An absolute rip off ,they pray on people In a bad situation. They mark up part prices to more than double original price and charge you half the price of the parts they would have sold you if you bring your own. My clutch went out on my 2011 wrx while I was on my way back from visiting a friend in Colorado from Oregon, the only shop who could get me in and out quickly was VDR Foreign auto repair. I explained my situation and told them that the other shop I talked to stated anyone in town will have trouble getting parts, so I overnighted a clutch kit from ********** and a separate flywheel. VDR told me they would HAVE to charge me half of the price for stock replacment clutch on top of what I paid for the ********** clutch... because he "had to make his money" I explained I didn't have the money for that so I had to cancel my order and wait for my money to be returned so I could pay for the clutch VDR wanted to use and actually afford to get my car back. All said and done they charged me 1,800 dollars for parts and labor.....I received my car nearing night time I had to also replace a tire so I drove to the local tire shop for a used tire. Noticed when I got there that both of my front fenders had been damaged from what appeared to be a strap with hooks on both ends like a tie down had been hooked to either fender and draped down to support the trans while the engine was out... so I called no answer. Complete my drive and call again Monday no answer. So I leave a voice mail. I say f it I'm states away just call it what it is. 4and a half months later clutch starts slipping.. deal with it for 2 months while trying to contact and sort warrenty. Turns out VDR bought a clutch from napa for 298.00 and that is what they say the warrenty will cover. So again call it what it is and try to get a shop to replace again with stage 1 exedy clutch kit. The new shop who is replacing my clutch tells me my flywheel is worn and need to be resurfaced. They stated that the previous shop should have done that when they did they clutch the first time but it didn't get done... mind you I had a flywheel ordered separately that I offered to VDR but they would charge my 50%more for supplying the part myself and they said that it didn't need to be replaced so I returned it.. so they cost me 1,800.00 upfront their lack of knowledge and experience cost me another 1,500.00 to replace the clutch again because it had been run with a bad flywheel so the clutch is now toast.. and they are going to cost me another 978.00 to fix my fenders that they damaged. And when I call to ask why he charged my like he did and didn't fo the job properly he denied damging my fender and he offered to resurface my flywheel and send it back it make up for not doing it before.. obviously Bob doesn't care about his work and he will do shotty work and over charge just to make a buck off a traveling couple expecting a child. Thats the kind of work you will find at VDR Foreign automotive repair. Oh and not to mention the fact that his mother the receptionist hung up on me 2 times because she didn't want to deal with the situation when I was very polite and just generally curious how to proceed thinking they would be willing to help was my second mistake. The first being trusting these people with my Investment.
