I want to warn everybody what they can expect from Johnson Insurance / ******** ( now *******) insurance company. I have had their insurance forever. We bought our house in 1987, our insurance agent migrated to Johnson Insurance many years ago. Living in Racine the Johnson name was always meant quality. We have Home and Auto coverage. We never really claimed anything, saving insurance claim for that one big issue. Well we were wrong. The evening of February 21st 2021 . the Sunday night after the big snow storm of 14 inches or more our garage collapsed. I contacted Johnson insurance of the claim. They were very helpful and were going to escalate the claim which they did. The problem came when the actual insurance coverage is under written by ******** which was bought by ******* Insurance. ******** adjuster came out and didn't get beyond the front of the garage. He said the garage was beyond repair. I started getting contractor quotes . I received a letter from ******** with a check of $26, 000. The quotes I got were mid to upper thirty thousand dollars ****. Each contractor spoke how the cost of lumber had gone up 40 percent or more due the lumber shortages. I contacted the ******** insurance adjuster. His comment was other than a roughly $5,000 payment when the garage was complete, that was it. They also didn't cover a new concrete slab required with any new garage replacement. I contacted Johnson insurance and they were shocked and were going to work with me to solve the problem. Well that and 10 weeks got me nothing. ******** did not care of higher construction costs. I thought I had replacement insurance but in the long run it cost me roughly $15,000 beyond what I got from the insurance company. The little guys gets it again. "
