This company called A recorded line saying that they obtained my employer number from the original creditor. I contacted the original creditor in person and spoke with the billing manager who advised they never Provide the employer number as a point of contact. This bill collector lied to me on a recorded line and went against FCA guidelines. This company never tried contacting my home phone or my cell phone number or by mail first.

On January 26, 2021 our client placed an account in collection for Amanda. The initial validation notice was printed on February 1, 2021 and then mailed to the address provided by our client. This validation notice was her first notification that she has a collection item with our company. The following attempts were made to reach her on the personal phone number provided by our client which is 608-475-2037. Amanda did not answer any of the phone calls attempted. 02/22/2021 at 12:34 PM 02/23/2021 at 10:10 AM 02/24/2021 at 3:53 PM 02/25/2021 at 5:13 PM 04/26/2021 at 11:48 AM 04/30/2021 at 11:10 AM There was one phone call made to her employer after seven attempts to either reach her by mail or her personal phone. This phone call was made to her employer on 04/30/2021 at 11:11 a.m. which was after trying to reach her on her personal phone call about one minute prior. A majority of our clients give Employer information when listing the account into collections. If not, it is obtained by the review of a credit report. The collector does not always have all fields available for viewing where the information was obtained from. The file is marked as a Ceased at place of employment and the work phone number removed. There also is an investigation being conducted since Amanda is disputing the debt due to insurance responsibility. When the investigation is complete an itemized statement will be mailed to her. Amanda did call the collector back on April 30, 2021 at 2:24 PM. She was cutting in and out and very hard to understand which the collector tried to convey but Amanda proceeded to call the collector a liar. There will be no contact with her until our investigation is completed for the dispute and validated.

Just because a company states they attempted calling my cell phone on dates/times doesn't mean it actually was done on those dates. If needed I could supply proof of this. I asked the representative on the phone, on a recorded line, why he didn't try calling my cell phone first and he said he wasn't sure why he didn't. That's not acceptable. This company can claim all they want that they obtained my employer number from the original billing company, but it is an outright lie. No worries, the hospital is fully aware of their fraudulent claim of obtaining the information from them. I'm dealing directly with the original biller as I have been from the beginning and have disputed the claim with them. I will pay the original biller directly if I end up owing them anything. Before you purchase debts or attempt to collect debts, you might want to make sure those debts are legitimate.
