    My wife's Chevy Equinox had engine failure in late March 2023. She towed it to our local mechanic who told us the engine needed to be replaced due to it burning out the engine with no warning or indication to the driver. She called Chevrolet in Detroit to get help and was referred to the closest Chevy Dealership to us; Bergstrom Chevrolet in Appleton. She called them 3 times to set up an appointment in 2 days to set up an appointment to get a diagnostic text on the engine (per the parent company's policy.) The first time she called the technician promised to talk with Manager and call her back, that never happened. She tried to call 2 more times since she had to work in 4 days and needed transportation and never got a call back. Chevrolet is using this as an excuse to deny us reimbursement for their faulty design. The lack of response from Bergstrom Chevrolet and their parent company cost us about $8000.00 intially when we had to trade in her Equinox for $2000.00 credit to a replacement vehicle (when her vehicle's value was $10,350.00 per NADA, before the engine blew. Her vehicle was recently paid off, and the replacement for us cost $19,999.00, and we have loan payment that is $30/mo more than her previous loan at double the interest rate. If the parent company insists that the dealers do this diagnosis before unsuspecting Chevy drivers fall into this trap, then dealers need to respond to these need, even if the vehicle was not purchased from them. I recently call the service area to ask why they did not respond, and the Man I talked to acted like he did not care and had incorrect information on the model years these repairs are reimbursed for.
