Additional Information
  • We have received information from the Clearwater Kansas Police Department that the address the business is using is that of Southern Kansas Telephone Company. There is no business by that name at the stated address. This scam started Oct. 17, 2008, using checks from the Southern Kansas Telephone Company telling people they were selected for "Secret Shopping" or that they had won a sweepstakes. Since that time, the checks now have Mills Employment Solutions on them, but are still using the Southern Kansas Telephone Company account number and address. Consumers are sent a check from the business for secret shopping. They are asked to deposit the check and wire money to a Monica Patrick in Houston, Texas. They later find out that the check sent to them is no good and they are held liable. When the consumer phoned the business about the insufficient funds check the business stated they would send the consumer a cashier's check, but the consumer never received the check. When the BBB phoned the business they stated they had no secret shopping available at that time. CONSUMERS BEWARE: This is not a legitmate secret shopper opportunity or a legitmate sweepstakes.
