YouthCare meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
YouthCare builds confidence and self-sufficiency for homeless youth by providing a continuum of care that includes outreach, basic services, emergency shelter, housing, counseling, education, and employment training.
Incorporated: 1974 in WA
YouthCare’s
primary goal is transitioning homeless young people from living on the streets
to leading fully independent, healthy, and productive lives. YouthCare’s
continuum of care model enables us to assist homeless youth, whatever their
current stage of development, to build the skills to become self-sufficient.
This
continuum of services includes:
- Prevention and early intervention services, including family reunification efforts, to prevent youth from becoming homeless.
- Safety and basic needs such as outreach, emergency shelter, case management, health services and other critical front-line services.
- Stable housing that meets the different needs of youth experiencing homelessness. This includes short- and long-term housing options along with case management services to help youth move beyond crisis and build healthier more independent lives.
- Supports to foster emotional and physical well-being, healthy behaviors, and permanent connections in school, work, community and personal relationships, and to improve a youth’s quality of life.
- Education and employment opportunities to build self-confidence, teach critical skills and help youth define and achieve their long-term goals and aspirations.
