      July 2023...I have waited to post because we were to upset at the email from the owner deflecting blame as to what really happened during my dog's stay.He went in a happy go lucky dog and after 2 days came out cowering, scared and scabbed up under his arms.Our dog is used to being boarded and comes home happy from his usual place... to be fair he was happy his 1st visit here... but clearly not the 2nd.Pictures do not show the extent of his mental state but my videos do.My worst fears were realized here, after literally 3 weeks he is finally acting like his normal self...Abuse should not be tolerated and the ******************* will hopefully start monitoring kennels.

      As we spoke back after his stay, there was absolutely no abuse to Drexl.   I spoke with each of the staff members about your complaint.  As you know & have known he is a bad humper so we keep him to himself.   He wants to play & be with other dogs but he makes them mad due to *******.  This is why you brought him to shaggy shack because he was kicked out of the previous facility.   He still received lots of love and attention,  we just couldn't put him with others to play with.

      Shaggy Shack Pet Resort returned my severely arthritic, disabled dog to me smelling of pee, a sticky underbelly from laying in her pee, raw spots on her elbows, an elbow with dried blood, inflammation and swelling of both her elbows so severe that it shook with each step my dog would take, and pee on her food container.I put my dog into boarding August *****, 2023 with Shaggy Shack; Thursday afternoon to Monday morning. My dog has a muscle dystrophy disorder that effects anywhere in her body that has collagen. At less than 2 years old, she has severe arthritis in her elbows. I let Shaggy Shack know of her disorder prior to leaving her with them. I even wrote a note and taped it to her food container.I spoke with 2 workers, 1 manager, and then finally the owner. None of the stories matched with the others.When I spoke with *****, the owner, I explained how I received my dog and that her inflammation could only be that severe if she was not given her medication. ***** said the girls could have missed some medications, were not perfect. I asked for a refund, to which she said we wont be administering a refund because that would be admitting we did something wrong. My dog was returned to me with dried blood and sticky from pee, how is that right?I have no answers Im satisfied with, only multiple stories of what may or may not have happened to my disabled dog. At this point, I paid to have her be grossly neglected. ***** provided a med sheet 4 days later to try to claim they gave my dog her medication, even though my hydrotherapist (who I had look over my dog for other injuries) agreed her condition couldve only been that bad if she had not received her medication. ***** shifted the blame to me, saying You chose to bring her to a highly stimulated setting instead of staying home with your handicapped pup. I trusted Shaggy Shack to care for my dog as if she were your own, as the website claims the business would do. I will not make that mistake again.
