      I had an accident with my car on 10/23 that took the body shop 4 months to repair due to supply chain issues. When the body shop called and I arranged to pick up the car on 02/15/24, I promptly called Carter Subaru (*******) schedule the 6month/6k service. Part of that service is to rotate the tires. They failed to do that. The reason I know they failed to do it is the front drivers side wheel/tire was replaced as part of the accident repair. It still has the new tire nubs and even Carter Subaru reported the tread depth as 10/32 while the other 3 tires have a tread depth of 9/32 reflecting the 5.5K miles those tires had on them. They have completely exhausted any kind of trust and I will be looking else where for my regular services. The failure to rotate tires has serious implications for the health of the *** system. At the end of the day, I should not pay for something they claimed to have done as required by the manufacture and I don't trust them to correct this as there is no excuse for not rotating the tires per the bill I got.

      I brought my Subaru Crosstrek to Carter Subaru to fix a peculiar issue the car was having. My Crosstrek was making a loud thunking sound accompanied by some vibration feedback that could be felt through the steering wheel when making tight turns. What made these issues extra odd is that they only became noticeable after driving the car for a good 30 minutes at freeway speeds. I explained all of this in detail to *****, a manager at the Carter Subaru *************** ***** then told me they would need to charge me $995 to diagnose the issue. When I asked why so much for a diagnoses, ***** told me it was because his technician would have to disconnect the clutch from the transmission and take everything apart to figure out what was going on. ***** called me the next day to tell me my issue was with the clutch and that I needed to replace it. I went with ****** recommendation because he works at the Carter Subaru *************** the place I bought my car from, he is the expert. Carter Subaru replaced my clutch, I picked up my car and didnt even make it home before it became clear that the issues I brought my car into Carter Subaru to fix, remained unchanged. When I went back to Carter Subaru and told them all of the original issues were still there and completely unchanged, they had a technician come out and listen to the car while I was there. Within 60 seconds the tech said I had a bad viscous coupler. ***** called me the next day and told me it would be $2000 to replace the viscous coupler. Wow. I went to Carter Subaru and was willing to pay their astronomical labor cost because I thought I could trust them. I thought I would get a first class experience. But instead what I received from Carter Subaru was the kind of unethical con job that has become all too common in the automobile repair business.
