Originally I went to them for a nightguard. At that point I was terribly concerned about my severe periodontal issue and was told it was necessary to help support my teeth and gums while sleeping. Seattle Dental Studio uses a scanner for measuring for the device which I thought would be more accurate measure than a mold which I've had in the past that never quite fit well and it was all my previous dentist could offer. Well ************************* found in his line of questioning only, that I had TMJ. So he refused to fit me for the nightguard stating it would be best according to him to see a specialist. I am an older adult and my all previous dentists have said that my periodontal issue is far more important than my TMJ which has caused me no problem for decades. If my periodontal issues worsen I stand to lose all my teeth. He recommended 2 places and i followed up. But both will cost $2K-$4K. My insurance won't cover TMJ nor a nightguards. I can't afford that much money. So I pushed back informing him of the results. He doesn't care. He won't fit me and no other dentist will take me now without full exams which I'm not covered for until next year because Seattle Dental Studio was paid for all of that and I have no further approved coverage again until next year. Then I just tried to set up my last cleaning, imperative for periodontal maintenance, and they're trying to tell me they're booked solid, no openings, for 4 months! I don't believe that's true. I believe I'm being pushed to go somewhere else which I can't afford because a new dentist will charge for set up again which again was paid to them. I find their whole approach to be cruel to say that least. As a result I risk losing my teeth because of their unkind attitude toward all of this. I don't usually share my feelings and wasn't going to with the nightguard issue. But after the cleaning matter I felt differently. I don't recommend supporting this business.
