The board of directors of the Better Business Bureau serving Western Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Smith as its new chief executive officer. 

Linda Smith has been a professional senior manager for over 25 years with extensive experience managing non-profit organizations. Hailing from the Windsor area, she was the Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation, and a former President of the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce for over eleven years. 

She is an experienced strategic and financial professional, with a proven track record in fundraising, and community engagement. A team builder, she is recognized as an articulate, effective communicator skilled at promoting a collaborative culture that drives results.

“We’re very excited to welcome Linda to our BBB,” said Craig Hardy, Chairman, board of Directors serving Western Ontario. “Her qualifications and leadership background make her a natural fit to lead us forward.”  

Linda Smith’s passion for her community extends to her volunteer work. She is currently a Community Services Advisory Committee Member for the Town of Lakeshore. She is a member of Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE), and is a former member of the Roseland Rotary Club of Windsor.

I am passionate about helping others, and look forward to cultivating the trust and required integrity needed between businesses and consumers,” said incoming CEO Linda Smith. “This remarkable organization has served our thriving regional marketplace well for several decades. Proudly, I’ll take the reins from Deborah Brady and continue advancing our mission and community impact.”

Deborah Brady, former President/CEO, resigned effective December 31, 2016 and is pursuing a life-long dream of travelling with her husband.

BBB Serving Western Ontario serves Chatham-Kent, Elgin, Essex, Huron, Lambton, Middlesex, Norfolk, and Oxford Counties and is one of 107 Better Business Bureaus across Canada, and, Mexico, and the United States.
