Quality Used Transmissions (formerly known as Quality Used Engines) has an office in Grand Rapids listed at 2525 E. Paris Ave SE. However, building management of this address told the BBB in 2015 that Quality Used Transmissions had never been a tenant. BBB contacted the company asking for their true physical location, but never received a response to the request.

Consumer complaints concerning Engine Shopper, Quality Used Transmissions and related companies have been reported to the BBB from nearly every state and Canada since 2009. The Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin has processed 330 of these grievances, detailing systematic problems like billing customers for goods they did not purchase, deceptive marketing, delay in shipment and delivery of goods, refund/exchange issues and product quality issues.

Google reviews on Quality Used Transmissions corroborate the BBB record:

  • "Transmission was terrible got ripped off paid 1000$ and it didn't even work don't ever buy off these people..."

  • "...Your phone number will be blocked, they will not return phone calls. They WILL send you unusable parts and not honor a warranty."

  • "THEY DENY CLAIMS BASED ON FALSE REASONS! SAVE MONEY AND TIME AND GET A GOOD TRANSMISSION ELSE WHERE!!...THEY ARE DOING NOTHING TO MAKE IT RIGHT..."

Engine Shopper LLC and its affiliates have failed to correct the underlying reason for the complaints.

Before You Buy Merchandise Online, BBB Suggests:

  • Researching the business by checking its BBB Business Review at www.bbb.org or by calling 816-421-7800.

  • Paying by credit card instead of debit so you can appeal purchases later if necessary.

  • Reading all terms and conditions, especially warranty information, before completing a purchase. Know your options in the event you receive an item that was not as advertised.
