April's Shred Day Results

April 24, 2017

THANK YOU for attending BBB's first FREE Shred Day of 2017!

For some background, BBB hosts several Shred Day events each year, where we help local consumers safely and securely get rid of their old paper documents that contain personally identifiable information; everything from cancelled checks to bank statements, credit card statements, tax returns, invoices, and everything in between.

This event also conveniently fell in the middle of Tax Season and the day before Earth Day 2017, so people were more than motivated to shred their old documents. Plus they did their part to save our Earth and protect themselves from identity thieves; making this a total win-win situation.

West Michigan Document Shredding assisted us with this event, and offered free commercial shredding services to consumers in the Greater Grand Rapids area in the Calvary Church parking lot. With their help we:

Safely and securely shredded 5,400 pounds worth of old paper documents.

We were so happy with the turnout for this event and that we had an opportunity to help local West Michigan consumers further protect their personal identities. Not sure when it's alright to get rid of that old document? Check out BBB’s Records Retention Schedule for how long you should keep documents containing personally identifiable information, or contact us with questions.
