I had my truck in while under a warranty for transmission issues. They told me that it was completely fine and just needed a service of filter and fluid. It had been acting up. I paid for that service and was told by the tech and service manager that what I had experienced was normal for a used vehicle with a new owner and they could not duplicate the problem do to the speeds it was occurring at. Was advised this was the best resolution. So I paid for that service and did what they told me which was to drive it and it would learn my "the new owners" shifting habits. I called back after I had put about 10000 miles on it and was still under warranty and told them it still down shifted on its own going down the expressway made noises and vibrated. Was told again to keep driving it it would be fine. Was in about 124000 miles called back around 135000 miles. Transmission failed at 143000 miles. Called them they couldn't get it in for 2 months. I went to another dealership who rebuilt it for $4000 and was advised that the torque converter went out and took out the transmission. And that the symptoms I was experiencing for the last 35000 was the converter going bad and had they changed it the whole transmission would have not needed to be rebuilt and that any dealership especially a gm dealership should have known this as it is a known problem. So I'm out 4k over somthing they should have had the knowledge to fix under warranty when I had $100 deductible. I have spoken with the Manger who just wants to put blame somwhere else. I aksed for them to pay half which I thought was more than fair. I found it funny that half of what they told me never made it to the final work order. Probably so they could deny responsibility later.
