      I brought my 9 year old lab to see Dr. Groves for a second opinion after being told by my vet that he had a sensitive stomach. One visit with Dr. Groves is all it took for him to find the actual problem. A mass in his stomachache. This is definitely not the outcome I wanted but at least I have an answer. Visit after visit with my vet in Englewood and they could not figure it out. My poor dog suffered for weeks until I saw Dr. Groves. If You want someone who will take the time to figure out what is wrong with your pet and someone who takes the time to actually explain things to you I suggest this office.

      I had been frequenting Groves Vet Clinic for 3 years for my Chocolate Lab. Services were acceptable however fee's were astronomical. Explanations were poor and often found myself looking things up on the internet to get a clearer understanding. Never once were there any offers of aid, but their hand was always out. I recently rescued 2 lab puppies that were abandoned on the side of the road. I took them in and phoned Groves on MORE than one occasion to get them in for care. I was told they would help with the fee's but when it came time to actually see the puppies I heard crickets. My 6 year Lab was in danger of possibly being infected with something without these puppies getting a clear bill of health and we reiterated that often, again, CRICKETS. My husband had finally had enough and phoned begging to be seen and instead we was turned away, and we received an email asking us never to return and accusing us of being rude and unruly due to the persistence of trying to get the pups in. I guess no good deed goes unpunished but I will liquidate everything I have to help these poor defenseless puppies and I'm not even in the industry. At least my husband and I have a heart! So, there you have it! If you have a HUGE checkbook and are willing to buy them, they will see you !!!!!

      ALERT: this client was dismissed from this business and no contact was requested by the business due to the use of foul language and threats towards staff. This business has since been contacted by another veterinary practice reporting the same incident with this client.

      We would have been happy to reserve an appointment at any time, but we were not asked to schedule an appointment. The message we received was to discuss a discount on services. We were happy to help with the cost of services for the pets you graciously adopted, we have done this for others. Some of the help we were able to offer included free flea and tick prevention and free deworming since your message indicated concern about the puppies transmitting something to Thor.

      Discounted services would need to be discussed with our Clinical Supervisor. She is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with alternating Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. She attempted to help on three occasions:

      1. Mr ****** stopped by Requesting to speak with the owner of the practice. He declined assistance from anyone else including a Reception team member who could have scheduled an appointment.

      2. We received an email after closing on 3/17/21, our Clinical Supervisor called back and left a voice message on all phone numbers on file with her scheduled hours for the week.

      3. Mr ****** called back on 3/22 and spoke with our Clinical Supervisor but did not give her the opportunity to speak. Instead he made threats and used foul language.

      While we do understand you had a concern, it is never acceptable to make threats towards staff or use foul language.

      Because of the nature of Mr ********* communication with our staff and their expressed concerns after interacting with him, we had to make the recommendation to seek veterinary care elsewhere.

      The statement Groves has made is not only a blatant LIE, it is inaccurate as well. They failed to mention my 6 year old Lab had been frequenting their practice for 3 years. Isn't it funny how when the ****** household was paying exorbitant costs for 3 years and never negated anything we were never a problem?

      May I add that Mr. ******* whose name is really Mr. ****** (I kept my maiden name) was never a problem when paying those bills? In addition the request for discounted services is what created this whole situation, if we had just made the appointments not asking for any special favors it would have not been an issue. I feel that since there would now be 3 dogs out of common courtesy and compassion one would want to help. Instead we were ignored, put off and then asked to leave.

      Mr. ****** is not the type of man to use foul language with anyone not alone a vet practice. He has been a business man for 40 years and would never and could never threaten anyone. Based on Groves previous reviews and other local people I have spoken to Groves reputation is not good. I was warned not to go to them but my Lab has issues and they are very close in distance to my home so I did not want to upset the apple cart. It's a shame that people go into the medical field with the ambition of making a profit opposed to the ambition of healing.
