      Best auto repair shop in the area! Honest & reliable! Ive been going to Hobsons since they opened for my vehicles and I couldnt ask for a better shop. Thank you Hobsons!

      I’ve been going to Hobsons for years. I really liked Jim and was happy he was familiar with Miatas and liked the way he took care of my Ford Focus. At my last oil change I made an appointment for March 20th for my car because I wanted it checked for a long trip. I called back and rescheduled for April 4 at 11:00. I was asked if I was going to wait for car or drop off and I said wait. I drove to place and was told by one lady that I didn’t have any appointment ever. So I explained I had appointment and than all **** broke loose when the gal with the pony tail (name may be Lois) It was I assume ***** ******** ** **** ********. I repeatedly asked for the man Jim to discuss as this woman became enraged. She said they never make appointments in advance and she demanded I leave. She was not rational at all.       This is absolutely not the case of what happened by any means. You did not have an appointment, Tuesday April 4th at 11:00. You did however have an oil change and trip check appointment scheduled for Monday, March 20th at 9am that you did not show up for, and it was not rescheduled as you stated above! You chose to blame us for your error. You immediately got angry that you came in on the wrong day and started yelling at our receptionist, who is ****. That type of behavior is never acceptable in any setting, and most definitely not at ********! So I (*********, "red shirt" and General Manager) stepped in, because **** did not deserve that reaction for you not having a scheduled appointment. You sat down telling me that you were going to have your vehicle looked at because you were leaving town. Once you sat down we advised you that we were not able to see you at 11 because we already had an 11 o'clock appointment scheduled and it was not for you. When you stated you had it booked months in advance, I showed you that we do not book months in advance. I did this by showing you our blank schedule as soon as 3 weeks out. Then you said you were going to *** us because you did not have a appointment and we were not able to see you at that time. The second you threatened to *** us for not seeing you, yes I told to leave. You then proceeded to tell me that I must be on my period, or going through "the change". With all of your inappropriate comments (that ***************** all of), we will no longer be working with you moving forward. On your way out the door you then took another jab saying I must be having problems at home with my husband. You were incredibly rude and from the moment you walked in the door. You were not pleasant to our front desk receptionist, which is why I stepped in. **** does not get paid to take abuse from any of our customers! This type of behavior is not acceptable and you were told to leave. Not once did anyone here insult you or treat you any differently than you treated my staff! The insults continued by you, and we as a team decided that your vehicle would best be serviced at another repair shop.
      Thank you for your review. However, the facts need to be stated. Because you were confrontational from the second you opened the door! We wish you well and hope you find a repair shop that will better service your vehicle. We will no longer be doing business with you in the future.

      The level of disrespect and personal attacks coming from you, it is very clear hat you are the abusive one involving the events that unfolded on April 4th. Anyone reading the things you have written can see that clear as day.

      I have been taking my cars to Hobsons ********* since they opened their doors over a decade ago. This is the ONLY garage I trust with my vehicles. Having true peace of mind (especially in regards to mechanics) is priceless and I never feel unsure or doubtful when doing business with Hobsons. Everyone Ive interacted with over the years has been great and theyve always strives to make my experience as stress free as possible (we all know how if inconvenient and infuriating it can be when our vehicles need an unexpected or expensive repair). Im very pleased to see Hobsons has an A+ rating with the BBB as it is very well deserved.

      I've been coming to Hobson Auto solely for 6 years since moving to ******* in August of 2016. I loved this garage, everything about it and everything it stood for, an honest family owned business with integrity and its roots in the Christian *********** brought my car in April of this year for a routine oil change and minor maintenance and I have spent the next 7 straight months, some months multiple times, in this garage, for what I'm still not even sure, my car actually runs like a champ. I've spent the duration of these months working and speaking exclusively with a young gentleman named ***********Very long story short and approximately $1,800 later with no resolve to what should be minor routine maintenance I email *********************** explaining that at this juncture I feel like I've been marked by his techs as an easy rip off target because I keep getting work they suggest done but nothing seems to be fixed to any certainty. I'm assured they will get to the bottom it and I again return with my car, I'm asked if I can let it stay overnight for a cold start in the morning and I oblige. The following day I receive a voicemail and a ******** Courtesy Vehicle Inspection via text from ***** with an estimate of nearly $2000 in repairs, none of which even addressed the issue I had brought the car back in there for to begin with which was the high pitch screeching that continued coming from under the hood. Instead, among multiple issues that one would think could not possibly have been overlooked by this garage for the 7 straight months my car has been in there, ***** stated I need a new starter/starter kit and asked if the car was hesitating when I started it? No, it hasn't. I even had audio recordings from that very week of me starting the car morning, noon, and night with no hesitation for the him to hear the screeching coming from under the hood. ***** who's car hesitate when starting now, that's when it bothers to start at all. Disappointed is an understatement.

      Thank you for sharing your feedback and complimenting the integrity of our shop with your experiences you’ve had previously. Believe me, when it comes to vehicles having concerns of noise, it’s not only frustrating to you but to me as well. Cars are machines. They don’t talk to us and we only have one shot to get it right. When you continue to have issues, we do everything we can to make it right, as customer service is very important to us here at Hobson’s Auto. My integrity means everything to me.  In 2022 your vehicle has been in several times. March of this year we replaced 2 tires and did an oil change per your request. On May 6th of this year your vehicle came in for a concern of “Jumping while sitting idle”. That day we only diagnosed the vehicle, as that was the only thing approved. We provided estimates for repairs to fix the jumping that was caused from a misfire. On May 13, 2022 your vehicle came in to replace the items recommended a week prior and we replaced spark plugs, wires and an ignition coil. On June 13, 2022 your vehicle came back in to complete the recommendations by replacing the air intake tube and A/C belt. On July 1, 2022 the vehicle came back in for a concern of bucking. There was no charge that day to see what was going on. It was determined that we needed to warranty the plugs, wires and ignition coil. On July 15, 2022 you brought the vehicle back to us for us to repair and warranty the tune up to stop the misfire, which resulted in no charge, as it was absolutely covered under warranty. Your vehicle was brought back in August 19, 2022 for the alternator to be replaced. On September 22, 2022 we replaced the belt under warranty. That day you had mentioned that you were smelling coolant and had been noticing a minor leak. We pressure checked the system and could not find a coolant leak at that time. We of course did not charge for this inspection due to the belt being under warranty and we did not see a coolant leak at that time. October 7, 2022 the vehicle was back due to belt squeal and coolant levels dropping in the reservoir. We did an adjustment on the belt and pressure checked the system again to see if we could pin point the coolant leak. At that time, there was still nothing that we could see regarding the loss of coolant. We do not change parts for the sake of changing parts. If we can not properly diagnose the vehicle and it is not clear what is causing the coolant leak, we will not ever suggest replacing anything. Guessing in this industry is not what we do. It makes us look bad when you spend money on a guess and we don’t repair the vehicle properly. So, we requested to continue to drive the vehicle and watch the coolant levels and let us know if the issue continued. We knew that at some point the leak would show up, but up until this date it had not shown up on any pressure check that was performed. Again, there was no charge for this visit. On October 14, 2022 you brought the vehicle back in for a concern of “screaming upon start up and coolant vanishing”. We did the courtesy inspection. Finally, we were able to diagnose the coolant leak. The radiator is leaking at the seam. There was no screaming or squealing noise heard, but we did adjust the tension of the belt. We did however turn the key to start the vehicle and heard clicking. The technician was able to diagnose the starter as being the failure in why it would not start. He then did and AMP test on the starter and that test failed confirming the starter is bad. Being that we do not want our customers to get stranded, we advised you of this issue that was found during the inspection. We recommended replacing the radiator and the starter. During the inspection he made a note that the right front cv axle boot was beginning to split and grease was seeping from the boot and an estimate was provided. The axle was recommended so that you were at least aware of this issue, but also that it was minor recommendation at this time and that we would watch it over time and recommend the replacement when it got worse. During 2022 the total spent on repairs has been $1651.07. That was for 2 tires, oil change, spark plugs, air intake tube, a/c belt and an alternator. The belt squeal was a small portion of the cost at $118.00. On October 14th when we diagnosed the coolant leak, the estimate for repairing the coolant leak and replacing the starter was $1066.70. if you chose to add the cv axle, adding that the recommended estimates would be $1380.46. However, we did not think it was necessary to replace the axle at that time.  I apologize that your vehicle has been difficult in diagnosing it causing you several return visits. However, when you do have to return, we understand the frustration and make sure that you are not charged to have the vehicle looked over and diagnosed. If we can not duplicate the noise you are hearing, we cannot in good faith sell you parts that we can’t be certain will correctly repair the true concern you are experiencing.

      The service and people at Hobsons's Auto Repair are terrific. I started going there about a year ago when I was having problems with my car. They checked everything and took care of what was wrong. I have been there several more times and am extremely satisfied with their work. Hobson's is the only place I will go to have my car worked on. **** ******
