Worst towing company I’ve ever dealt with. Parked in a lot WITH NO ATTENDANT OR CLEAR SIGNS THAT SAID TO PAY OR WHERE TO PAY. Called the police to report my car stolen to find out this company has it. When I called the company to ask where my car was the woman kept putting me on hold with no warning, she had a terrible attitude and had a rude tone and I asked her if someone could come get me because she had just towed my car and I couldn’t get there- she said “we are not a taxi service” and hung up on me. Never told me how much it was to get my car back, if my car is at the location that’s posted, nothing. These were the only visible signs from where I parked UPDATE: I just got to the place, the address is down the street from where it actually is, it’s a yellow trailer that looks suspect (pictures included) . I could barely hear the man through the broken thick plastic except for when he was on the phone and screamed “THEN ******* PAY IT!”Review from Tymeya T

They illegally towed our car from our complex and lied and said they did not have it when we called. When we pulled up to the lot, the car was there. They then said they forgot to put it in the system. They are in the business of stealing cars.Review from Savannah C

The guy who answers the phone is so nasty and beyond rude. You ask questions and he just yells at you. It’s the most unprofessional company I’ve ever encountered.Review from Maris S

This Business does not respond to customer concerns. They damaged my car while towing- They denied this. It was dark when I got my car back and did not see damage until next morning.My car is in Brand new perfectly clean condition. They keep ignoring my calls and emails. They do not give me their real names when I ask them -Very Unprofessional. One guy who said his name was Edward- actually told me I should file this dispute in small claims court.Review from Anita W

I manage properties and George Smith Towing has been servicing 8 of my complexes for the last 2 years. If you are having a parking problem CALL THEM! We enforce permit parking in all of my lots and George Smith Towing patrols and tows anyone illegally parked without permits everyday. They make sure the firelanes stay clear at all times. They are a great help and make sure the lot is clean and clear for the residents who live at these complexes. Not only are the drivers great, the dispatch is great as well whenever I call. They even have an overnight dispatch team my tenants are stunned that they can call at 3:00am to get a car towed and the driver comes out to do it. They answer my emails right away and are so flexible. If you need a tow truck company to keep your lot clear and clean and help you avoid fines these are the people to do it.Review from Ashley O

Professional, FAST, price worked for me, great customer service My car had a flat in Fishtown area and called around to multiple tow truck companies and George Smith Towing was one of them, even though they were located in Southwest they had drivers all over the city and arrived within 10 mins of my phone call versus other companies who were located closer with a longer wait time. A little pricey but you honestly get what you pay for, the price worked for me. The gentleman was very nice, his customer service skills were great! They changed my tire super fast with my spare. I will definitely be calling them again and will refer them to friends and family!Review from Robert F.

George * Smith Towing have the most unprofessional rude drivers. My wife and I had an encounter this morning with one such driver who had a female in his truck who took it upon herself to step to my wife concerning the issue at hand. Not only that the driver yelled to my wife to "shut the ****up. No matter what the issue there was no cause for that. He never showed any paperwork regarding the impound. He did not put the car in netural but dragged it onto the flatbed. If there any damages this company will be held totally liable along with emotional damages.

George Smith Towing is surprised by this, as they train their drivers how to properly handle situations with proper customer service skills. The drivers are not allowed to have anyone in the trucks. This situation can be properly handled if you can provide the vehicle information and along with proper proof the vehicle was towed.Customer Response

The vehicle was towed on 7/28/21. There was an anonymous vcall to Neighborhood Services that the vehicle was abandoned. The owner provided the driver and officers from BS and the 35th District paperwork showing registration and insurance. The vehicle is a red 2008 Buick Lacrosse. The driver did not give paperwork to the owner. When asked that is when he verbally shouted "shut the F up" at which time one of the 35th District Officers instructed him to get into his truck. This encounter has caused emotional distress for the owner (my wife) and myself.Customer Response
