Hired EK Services 3/3/20 to replace the entire sewer line from house to township line due to breaks in the original line. Asked if it was ok to not bring up the new line and dig a new path for the new line. I agreed and they completed the work late March. The total price of the job was $8,744. We had to use a home equity loan to pay for the new line. Since the new line we have had problems with the downstairs basement. In two instances, we had water come up through the shower in Sept 2021 after Ida and again after the nor'easter in April 2022. In addition, the downstairs toilet and shower clogged in early April 2022. I had a local plumbing company, *********************, come out twice, to fix an air line to the toilet and camera our downstairs pipe (totaling 1,300). They concluded and verified, that EK services never checked for other connections to the old sewer line and my downstairs bathroom is still connected to the now old and unused sewer line. On 5/12, took 3 tries to finally talk to secretary to push my claim and promised I would her someone that day and did not. On, 5/13 Friday I heard from ****, a supervisor, and I explained the findings of ********************* and he argued that he does not understand how it is their problem. He explained that he assumed that their were not other lines that needed completed. When I asked if he checked, he claimed that they were basing their assumptions from a conversation with my father, not a plumber, that the only thing needed replaced was the sewer line. I expressed it was his job to check for other lines and asked to come out and finish the job. Continued being defensive and wanted to come out to check but claimed it still isn't their problem. I explained that I feel he is not giving any help and I want to contact an attorney to see if I am protected. Stated "Go ahead and call your X** XXXX lawyer" and hung up. Will not respond to any of my phone calls after leaving messages from both me and my wife. Unresponsive.
