Sorry, I could not leave a zero out of 5 for this review. BUYER BEWARE, if you cancel your membership with this company, they will steal $49 from your credit card account under the guise that you signed an agreement making you responsible for this fee ? Really that's how you want to run your business? The manager would not budge on returning the fee. I was told that when I cancelled there would be 1 month fee of $15 for 30 day notice, which I get and did not have a problem with. Now I am also responsible for a yearly service fee of $49 because of the timing of my cancellation. So beware everyone before signing an agreement with BS fees attached. I fail to see how this business model is sustainable. The manager obviously only cares about squeezing every penny from their clients when they leave, I was a client for over two years and this is my parting gift. Think twice before joining this scam operation. Never had any issues like this with planet fitness. Please go there for your fitness needs. They actually respect their clients.

The Maumee, OH location closed abruptly. We are owed money for prepaid workouts in excess of $700. We received an email the day they closed (Early May 2022) stating we would get our refund within 14 business days. Its is 6 weeks later and we have received nothing. I called the corporate number listed and its goes to one of their clubs and they claim they don't have the number to corporate. I really just would like my prepaid money back.

I “signed up“ for personal training sessions by providing my credit card. I did not sign a personal training agreement. I was initially told that this could not be done without a doctors note so I asked for a copy of the agreement I signed, knowing full well there was no agreement in place. I then went in to the club to cancel in person and was told I would not be charged anymore. My husband followed this up with a call to the training and assistant manager at the Exton location who also confirmed we would not be receiving any more charges for personal training sessions. Lo and behold, we were charged this month anyway. This is nothing short of fraud as we are being charged for services not received or agreed-upon with no proof of a contract in place! Law enforcement should investigate the business dealings of this company!

I cancelled my membership with Maxx Fitness in September of 2019. There is documentation of the cancelled membership. Around the same time, someone there without my permission and without my knowledge created a new account/membership for me. I only noticed there was a second account when I saw a double charge on the last month that I was there. I had to pay $100 to cancel the membership and I was assured that both accounts were closed. I have not set foot in that gym for almost two years and now all of the sudden this November the 22nd, they are claiming that I owe them money and are refusing to waive the fees or close the account unless I pay them half of the balance on the account, and if I don't, they are threatening to send the debt to collections. I did not open this account or authorize the use of the card on file, and that card has been cancelled for almost 2 years. There is no corporate email or phone number and management has been dodging these calls for over a week. This is absolutely FRAUD and I am not the only person who is having this exact same problem. They are stealing money from consumers and getting away with it. I will be taking this to civil claims court and you should too.
