    I called PECO on Wednesday, 5/17/2023 to have service put into my name for the very 1st time for my move in day of 5/20 at (****************************, Philadelphia, PA) . I was told it would be 3 days once I received my reference # after sending my ID and lease agreement, and my service would be activated that Saturday. I called Friday, 5/19/2023 to follow up and was then told it would be 3 BUSINESS DAYS and I would have service that Monday/Tuesday the latest. The customer service representative told me whomever had lived in the apartment prior to me had a large outstanding balance so PECO needed to verify the old tenants no longer lived there. On Monday, 5/22/2023 I called PECO and was told the verification process is 3-5 business days they are behind on work and to call again Wednesday. On Wednesday, 5/24/2023 I called and explained what I had been going through and was connected to a supervisor. The supervisor explained they needed additional paperwork and once submitted they would give me a call back. I submitted the paperwork same day, received a reference #, waited and unfortunately a return phone call was never received. After waiting an additional 24 hours I called Friday, 5/26/2023 and was transferred 3 times to be told the verification process was starting over again and it had been only 2 business days, and due to the holiday on Monday I would not receive service until middle or end of next week. I was told no one can do anything for me until the verification process is complete. When asked to speak to a supervisor I was told no one is available and they would place me on a call back list. Most of the customer service reps I have spoken with have been rude, unprofessional, and make it seem as if its my fault the last tenant didn't pay their bills. I along with my two year old daughter am currently couch surfing with friends and family during this difficult time. I am also paying rent on an apartment I can not reside at due to this situation.

    For months I have been trying to update my email login for PECO. I have called multiple times and tried to do this on many, many browsers on different computers. The link on the My Security page to change your email, change your password, and toggle 2FA all do not work. Ever. This has been going on for at least 5 months now. At this point this is a security risk to customers who cannot update an email that may be compromised. If that happens to my account be well assured we will end up in court. I have the time and the resources to sue this incompetent company.
