On Saturday, 9/11/21, my spouse went to David Dodge to purchase or lease a new vehicle and trade in his 2017 **** ******* ** with approximately 35,000 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately, at the time he was having a psychotic episode. According to the former sales manager they noticed something was wrong when he went into the bathroom and came out "a different person" and some thought he was drunk or high, which he wasn't. He even signed a different name on the paperwork and nobody put more questions to the transaction. Besides that, which may not have any legal grounds, albeit unethical in my opinion, there seems to be a major discrepancy in the trade-in value of the 2017 *******. According to the scanned paperwork that the dealership provided to me, it shows the payoff figure of $21,400 and a net trade-in amount in the range of $3600 (hard to read the scan). Unfortunately I can't find a total agreed upon trade value of the vehicle, and when asked repeatedly over the past 5 months where I can find that total amount, their current sales manager, Jason Finley, pretty much dodges the question or just doesn't reply to the emails unless I hound him. And at this point he has stopped responding and our last communication was more than a month ago. Now, I wouldn't be digging in so much if they had something to show why they valued the vehicle at $25,000, because every bit of information I could find for that vehicle is that the trade value should have been in excess of $30,000, and even as of writing this complaint, it's still in excess of $30,000. Jason claims that the market is up and down and that they use a different system than ***** Blue Book, but I doubt that there is a $5000+ variance between the two or between the beginning of September and the beginning of October. Again, they seem to be unable to provide any documentation as to an agreed upon trade value for the *******.
