March Lunch 'N Learn: Becoming An Alzheimer's Friendly Business

Join us for our March BBB Lunch 'N Learn. This month's topic is Becoming An Alzheimer's Friendly Business presented by Peggy Hancyk of Home Instead Senior Care.
March 17, 2017

With an ever growing aging population it is extremely important that you and your company's staff understand how best to deal with people who may be facing health and mental wellness challenges.

The purpose of this presentation is to help you and your employees have a better understanding and increased sensitivity towards customers with Alzheimer's disease (and the loved ones who care for them). This is an interactive presentation, with lots of examples and time for Q & A. The goal is to help your company and your employees confidently deal with individuals with Alzheimer's that engage with your business.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • Recognizing the potential signs of Alzheimer's disease.
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining the dignity and respect of a customer with Alzheimer's disease.
  • Knowledge of the common behavioural symptoms of persons with Alzheimer's disease, and tips for helping to alleviate a situation that may otherwise escalate.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia and their families.
