I had Western heating and air put a central air system into one of our properties. It only worked for a year or two before it started leaking freon. I had them come out and the tech admitted that they used an experimental rubber hosing instead of copper tubing for the freon gas. The tech also explained that the rubber hosing was known to fail after only a short period of time. I told them that th should replace the hose with the proper tubing. Of course they ignored my request. Do not trust this company, they will rip you off.

I have neglected in writing a warning about Western Heating & Air Conditioning but I feel obligated to let people know what they now can expect from this company. I had a problem with my Air Conditioner where it constantly lost Freon. Western service it for many years and at one point blamed the leak on the heat exchanger and replaced it. Luckily it was still under warrantee so it was not a big expense. It did not stop the leak and over the years there seemed to be no solution. Last year I decided to just get a new air conditioner and had a couple of companies give me bids. I told everyone that I wanted a system that would cool our home to 72 degrees in 100 degree heat. Western again seemed to be the best choice for the job. They sent a young guy out and he brought the equipment. A new air conditioner and they had claimed we need a new heat exchange too. After they removed our two cycle air conditioner I found that their replacement was a single cycle conditioner. I was concerned about this but I was assured that this would not affect the operation of the furnace. Then when they went to replace the heat exchanger I was told that the one the size that we had could not be installed without them tearing the furnace ducting apart so they would have to use another one. Since Western had changed out the one with the same size previously when they blamed the leak on it I questioned this but they young man assured me that that was the case. When I saw what they were putting in it was much smaller and I should have just stopped them but again the young man assured me that it was adequate. Even though it was much smaller they did not reduce the price they were charging me. When everything was installed the young man tried to hook the wires up to our thermostat and it would not work when hooked the way it was previously so he put in a new thermostat and said not to worry as he was not going to charge us for it. It was now time to pay him and I said I will pay you half now and the rest when we see that it works to the guarantee (i.e. cools to 72 degrees in 100 degree temperatures. He would not accept this. I should have told him to put my old system back at this point but I was too trusting and paid the full price. I wanted to include the attachment that came up when one clicked on the link but when I went to copy it I was informed that the link has expired. The interesting thing was that this informed me that I had no warrantee. What did we get? The first think we found out was last winter was that our furnace was now a single speed furnace. Previous it would go to much higher air output when it needed to attack a large delta temperature demand. Now it runs on a low output all the time. The same is true of the air conditioner. Our old two stage conditioner would cool the house by going to the high output. Now if the house has to be cooled from a sizable delta the air conditioner will run all night.
