It is my belief that Dr. M******* and TMJ Therapy Inc. have defrauded my wife of $2,165.72 for medical services for which our medical insurance company said she should pay $0.00. I ask that TMJ Therapy Inc. refund my wifein that amount in full. I am sending this to you so you can help me undo the defrauding. Can you please update me on this progress, or as necessary, forward to the appropriate department within your organization? My complaints fall under at least two categories. COMPLAINT 1. Intentionally deceptive billing policies. Before she could receive services, my wife was required to sign a contract, the only contract they offer, and she chose to pre-pay for the services, believing that she would be reimbursed after insurance was billed. TMJ Therapy Inc. is relying on unconventional billing practices that were NOT sufficiently explained to my wife at the time of signing the contract. As I will explain in this letter, the wording of the contract is vague and a reasonable observer would NOT come to the same interpretation of the contract as TMJ Therapy Inc. is. Through these unconventional billing practices, that appear to be intentionally unclear in order to achieve their deception, TMJ Therapy Inc. has overcharged my wife by at least $2,165.72. COMPLAINT 2. Incomplete Billing. TMJ Therapy Inc. did not properly bill our insurance for all services received. As of writing (7/27/2022), this has not been adequately resolved, though at least some portions of it are in the process of being resolved. Even if we concede that the contract is valid, which I do not, TMJ Therapy Inc. has not done their due diligence to properly bill my insurance and then pass those funds received on to us. This situation is complicated and is difficult to describe in less than 2,000 characters. Please see attached for a detailed explanation.
