On 8/25/2025 ABC Pest Control visited our property, and I signed a proposal to have the company investigate the property and determine what would need to be done. We were not satisfied with the work, and were then told we had to pay $1000. This was paid in full, despite it being $250 more than what was promised, and without any plan provided. *** specifically stated that they had made three visits to the property, and had yet to provide any promised work.We would like to be promptly refunded the $250 overcharge, and the be provided with the $750 plan of work which was promised, or be refunded for this as well.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response and the supporting documents.

The initial proposal ($750) which I signed, was to prepare a plan of action for pest control on the property.  Neither **** or I were provided a copy of this plan until today (in the response to this complaint.). It was never stated that there would be additional costs to have the results of this investigation delivered to us (the $250 charge.)

As clearly shown in the documents provided by ABC Animal Pest Control, the proposal for the additional cost was never signed.  Neither **** nor I was contacted by phone, and these additional charges were never approved.

ABC Animal Pest Control claims **** was belligerent, yet they left the property with a $1000 payment after delivering none of the work which was promised. *********** customers do not typically write checks.

ABC Animal Pest Control states that they attempted to settle this BBB complaint by contacting *******.  ******* was not the person who signed the initial proposal, and was also not the person who requested that the work be done.

During the call to *******, she was pressured to personally pay ABC Animal Pest Control $250 so that it could then be refunded to **** to settle this BBB complaint.

******* has told ABC Animal Pest Control multiple times that she is not involved whatsoever with this work.

Its incredibly saddening to me that the BBB endorses businesses who fail to deliver as promised, fabricate documentation, and then attempt to pressure and blackmail a significant other to settle a legitimate complaint.

In response to the actions of ABC Animal Pest Control since this complaint was submitted , I would like to request a full refund of the $1000 paid, along with a written apology to ******* from ABC Animal Pest Control.

    Regards,

    **** *****

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

    Better Business Bureau:

As I stated in my last response, ABC Animal Control has never produced any evidence that the second $250.00 in charges were approved, other than claimed "phone recordings."  In the first batch of documents, the additional $250.00 in charges was marked as "Verbal signature obtained via phone conversation on 9-10-2025."  The timing on this is suspect, as this is the day before the rescheduled meeting.  While one party consent phone recordings are not admissible in Wisconsin courts as evidence, I feel these recordings should be provided to the BBB should ABC Animal Control continue to reference them.

ABC Animal Control continues to claim combative behavior by **** yet felt safe enough to remain on the property while the check for the original proposal amount plus the additional charges which were never agreed upon was written out and presented to them.

Despite the explanation of ********* role, ********* name was not listed on either inspection proposal - the customer's name is clearly **** *****.  And the signature on the initial proposal is my signature.  The check provided was from **** *****. The fact that ******* found ABC Animal Control and made contact means little - she does not own the property in question, did not authorize the work, did not sign any proposals, and did not pay for the work.

ABC Animal Control neglected to provide any information in this response regarding the call which was made to ******* after this complaint was filed, in which ABC Animal Control asked ******* to personally pay them so that this money could be then refunded to **** to settle this BBB complaint.  ******* did not apologize to ABC Animal Control during this call, and subsequently blocked ABC Animal Control's phone number to prevent further harassment.  It's curious that recordings supposedly exist for all other interactions except for this one.

I continue to request a full refund and an apology to ******* for behavior after this BBB complaint was filed.

    Regards,

    **** *****
