*This is an update to my original complaint (seen below). More specifically, I am demanding that this business pull my bills back out of collections status like they said they would, given that they admitted that the bills were put into collections by mistake in the first place. Both my son and I were treated by Spokane Emergency Physicians last year for various medical reasons. We received bills in the mail for the services that were provided. I later contacted the billing department for *** to inquire about a cash-pay discount for both bills. I was told that they would need to submit a request and that it would be a few weeks before I would hear back with a decision. After a few weeks passed I contacted them again to inquire, and was told the same thing, the bills were still in review and it would be a few more weeks and I would get a notice in the mail about their decision. I never received any notices in the mail regarding their decision, and some months after that I received notices that both bills had gone into collections. There was not warning about this, and no follow-up from my original request to negotiate both bills. They simply placed them into collections without my knowledge. I immediately contacted the billing department for Spokane Emergency Physicians to ask about the issue and have it resolved. Both bills were negotiated and paid over the phone. I was told that the bills were being reversed out of collections, and when I called the collections agency a week later, Spokane Emergency Physicians had still not contacted them to reverse the bills from collections. The **************** Lead at *** had even emailed me to admit their fault and let me know the bills had been reversed. This business and its billing department are unprofessional and unethical. It's reasons like this that nobody trusts our broken medical system. They have failed in multiple ways to follow through on what they have said they will do

Was seen at *************************************** room 12/29, I arrived at the ** about 10:30 pm on 12/29, sat in the waiting room until about 2 am, finally was seen, I am being charged for emergency ***** visit (CPT99284) @$1196 for both 12/29 and 12/30 (total $2392) there are also charges for treatment of fracture ( CPT ***** on 12/29 - $452 and CPT ***** on 12/30 - $506) fracture was treated 12/30. There is also an additional charge MED serv 10pm-8am 24 hr fac (CPT 99053) $106 just for being seen between hours of 10pm and 8am. (isn't this what the ** is for to be able to be seen 24hr a day) and if there was an urgent care open I would have opted that direction. There are insurance adjustments of $2741.41 and a small insurance payment of $175.10 made. However, I am still being charged for 12/29 and 12/30, when I was only seen 1 time not both days. The person I spoke with on the phone admitted to charging me for sitting in the waiting room. I contacted them many times asking for a paper bill to be sent to my address, I finally received a paper statement 6/9/25. Why are we being charged for an emergency room visit to SECP and Multicare, is this not double billing for the same service. Also being billed the same charges on 12/29 and 12/30 when I was treated for injury on 12/30.

I, ***** ********, made a $50.00payment to Spokane Emergency Physicians on November 18, 2024. I have been making these $50.00 payments every month and will continue until my debt is paid. When I received a new bill in the mail from Spokane Emergency Physicians it did not have the $50 payment that I had made in November in the credits, so I called them. I spoke to ****** at Spokane Emergency Physicians and he told me that no, they had not received that payment yet. WHAT???? I live in Spokane and mailed it from the post office on ******* and it went to a PO Box 383 in Spokane. It definitely made it to this company's office in no longer than a week, which would have made it November 25, 2024. Now my question is, "Is my payment being held in their financial office and only gone through at that company's own convenience? The Spokane Emergency Physicians have given their customers a 30 day window to make these payments. When I talked to ****** at Spokane Emergency Physicians on December 13, 2024 he told me that payments could take 1-2 and up to 6 weeks to go through their system. WHAT??? If this company is giving their customers a 30 day window to pay, then what he told me negates the 30 days. If it takes 6 weeks then that gives S.E.P., 44 days to go through their mail and it negates the 30 day window given to customers. Do you see why I have a problem with this company? If S.E.P. takes this long to enter my payment in as paid, then my payment becomes late, as is the problem I am having right now. I wanted to make my December payment today, but they haven't even gotten my payment for November entered yet! Now THAT'S a problem. I hope I gave you enough information to be able to understand the problem. Thank You - ***** ********

I paid an invoice over 2 months ago and Spokane Emergency Phys, PS continues to harass me and is threatening to send me to collections which does impact my credit. If my credit is impacted I will have to take them to court to get it reversed

This company has been sending me texts and invoices to my home demanding payment or I will go to collections since I paid it in full. I emailed and asked that they send me a certified letter explaining it's been paid, all the response I got was, "It's paid just ignore the threats." This is unsatisfactory.

I still have not received my bill from my March 1st ER visit. Last time I dealt with this group I never received a bill from them, they just sent me straight to collections. I feel that they are doing the exact same thing again. My insurance has not received a bill, nor has the company called me about any billing issues. My mail to the address where they should have sent the bill is being scanned in by the post office, so their "lost in the mail" excuse isn't going to fly with me twice. **** me promptly and correctly, it's not that much to ask.

I was seen in emergency room on 07/23/23 and when I received the notice from Spokane Emergency Care Physicians they were already threatening to send me to a collection agency for $73.86. I called and was advised by their representative that they do not honor any financial assistance letters from multicare. I paid $28.86 to keep from going to a collection agency. I called back about two weeks later when I another notice and was told that they would accept the letter for financial assistance which is 75% assistance. I finally received their transaction report which shows a hardship credit of $23.86. Which is not the 75% financial assistance Im supposed to be receiving. No one there can tell me how they figured this amount out. Not impressed with their accounting accuracy.

In mid April I received a collections letter from ***************** company for a bill from Spokane Emergency Physicians. I made payment arrangements with Spokane ER Physicians in January 2021. I have made a payment to them every month and have no idea why I was sent to collections. I called the Spokane ER Physicians billing department and asked them why I had been sent to collections. They told me they had not received a payment from me since November 2022. I told them I had not missed a payment and I had proof of those payments. They told me to email the copys of the deposited checks to them so I did. I waited a few days for a response but never heard from anyone. I called back and talked to someone, who told me she didn't know any thing about my account. I told her I would like someone to call me back as to what they were going to do. I waited another couple of days and I still did not hear from anyone. I called them back and was told their company no longer contracted with Spokane ER Physicians and that I would have to call Sacred Heart to find out what billing office was contracted with them. I called The cashier's office and left messages.I called and left messages with a liaison. I called the General information desk for the name of the new billing office for Spokane ER Physicians and was told to call the same number I had previously called. When I tell them that number isn't contracted with S EP they say I don't know what to tell you because that's the only number we have. I have proof of payment and they still have not taken it back from the collections agency. No one will talk to me. I want to pay my bill just not through a collections agency. My credit means a lot to me. I would like an explanation as to why they sent me to collections and why after I showed proof they cut off all communications. I would be happy to pay my bill as agreed upon but not through a collections agency. I have uploaded my cancelled checks to show proof of payment.

Emergency Room Visit December 21 2020. Made payment agreement Jan or Feb 2021. Made ***** payments every month (I have Proof) April 2023 Received a collections letter from ************************ Called Spokane Emergency Physicians to find out why they sent me to collections. They said it was because they had not received any payments from me since November 2022. I told them I had made payments. They said I needed to show proof. I went to my bank and they made copies of the checks that were cashed by spokane emergency physician. I was very ***** that I could be scammed so when I called Emergency Physicians they gave me a very strange email address. They told me to call the hospital to verify the email address. It took me a week to finally reach someone that could tell me if this was in fact a legitimate email. After that I emailed the copies of my cashed checks. I waited for someone to call me back. When no one contacted me I called spokane emergency physician again only to be told they no longer contracted with Sacred Heart. They told me I would have to call the hospital to find out who was contracted with SHMC to find out why they sent me to collections even though I had made the payments. I received a call from the collection agency and they said they knew I made all the payments and that I could continue to pay them. I worked very hard to keep my credit status in good standing. This could ruin my credit. I'm a single income person I don't have anything to fall back on. My credit is very important to my survival. I want an explanation and the collections account recalled. I understand that I owe money and have no problem paying it. I just want to pay the spokane emergency physicians as agreed upon in January of 2021. I did nothing wrong This should never have gone to collections. I made a claim over a week ago and still have not heard from anyone.

    Hello Again *****,

I have contacted the collection agency as well as our billing company to obtain details on your account from them.

I understand your concern regarding keeping your credit clean.  I have asked them to cease all collection efforts until this issue is resolved.  Once I figure out what happened, I will be sure to ask them to remove this from your credit.

At this time, I will also email you from my Spokane Emergency Physicians email address so we can communicate further.

    Thank you,

In September of 2022, I visited the Sacred ******************** Emergency Department for a medical issue. Afterwords, I received bills from a number of providers and the hospital itself, all of which I either paid immediately or made arrangements to pay over time.Yesterday, 4/3/2023, I received a collection letter from an agency claiming that I owe Spokane Emergency Physicians $1550. I have never heard of them prior to receiving the collection letter, and never received a bill from them.I called Spokane Emergency Physicians using contact information I found online. They indicated that they do have an account for me, although they did not provide me with the number. They claim they sent three invoices before sending the account to collection, although I never received any invoices from them. They verified they do have my correct address and stated that it is the address where they sent the invoices, although again, I never received any invoices from them, nor was I able to locate envelope scans that might have been invoies in my **** Informed Delivery records. It took three phone calls to get that much information from them, as the staff kept hanging up on me, wanting to argue about the invoices I did not receive instead of addressing the issue.I would like for *** to pull the account from collections, send me a proper itemized invoice, bill my insurance, and bill me for whatever the remainder is.

    Business Response

    Hello ****,

I am so sorry to hear of the difficulty you've been having with this bill.  I believe I can help you.

I will contact the collection agency today to ask that they cease all collection efforts and remove this from collection.  Just so you know, if you just recently received this, this has not been reported on your credit at this time.

I will then check with our billing company to see where the issue lies.  I will get back to you as soon as I hear back from them.

From this point, I anticipate doing exactly what you suggested.  Pull the account from collections, have it billed appropriately and you paying the balance if there is one.

Thank you for reaching out and giving me the opportunity to correct this for you.

You will hear from me soon.  I will contact you via email from the following address:
