    This company is A SCAM. They sent a 1099 to *** stating that I worked for them in 2022 and now I'm having to figure out how to figure out how to correct whatever it is they've done. They had my social security number somehow and now the *** is saying I owe them ***** for something I didn't do. Now I have no clue on the next steps to take to keep from being ripped off.

    I almost completed the ******* v8 Appen project. I only had 3 more videos to analyze and review out of the 750 videos I had already done. Then I received an email that they decided to drop me. This is after I spent days diligently working on the project. They had said they needed the work done by June 27th. In order to finish the project on time I stayed up over 48 hours straight so I could complete it on time...all to no avail. What a waste of time. A word to the wise: don't work for this company or you may end up working and not getting paid. It's the worst remote work company I have ever encountered.

    Will not pay me, will not respond to my many requests, help desk does not repond to tickets, only send a response saying closed after many weeks but never helped, will not close my account as requested or pay me for work I did, Run far away.

    This is a follow up review. I reported that I had been scammed by a person claiming to be a Appen employee. Appen's only response was that they were "aware of people using their company name" to scam people but other than that have done noting to resolve the issue. This is despite the fact that I was able to provide evidence that the person was indeed an Appen employee, or at least had been at one time. The issue remains unresolved,

    Completed work for this company 3 weeks ago. No payment. Have not heard anything. Contacted their support staff twice over 2 weeks and have gotten no response.

    Do not work for this company .I used to work for Appen on project yukon. I had received the payments without issues through direct deposit. Two months earlier, my bank decided to close my account and return back all the funds to the origination account. About 2800$+ were sent back to appen. When I contacted the company in regards to this situation. The company stated that me not being physically present in the *** as their reason for not being able to send back my funds. But, I have come back from ***** and currently reside in the ***, I have also opened a bank account in the ***. It's been more than one month since I have sent them my bank account details, and updated them about my current address in the ***, But I still had not received any response from them. This is highly unprofessional and unacceptable

    Much like ********** (left a review), I also receicved a 2023 1099-*** from Appen AI **** I am retired and do not know who they are or why they would have paid me over $1,400. I have submitted multiple online messages (can't find an email address) over the last two weeks and have not been contacted. Each time I try to call the number listed on the 1099 (can't find a number anywhere else), no matter what number you select in the phone tree it makes you leave a message. I have left many messages including to their HR office. Still, nobody has contacted me. It concerns me that they have all my information including my SSN.

    My son received a 1099-*** for 2023. Problem is, my son died in 2022. They used my address which was not my sons address and they used the last for of his SSN correctly however the other five numbers are Xs. Additionally, they have his last name incorrect. No way to get in touch with this company by calling them and I am not leaving my info. on their website. Unfortunately, it sounds like someone is using my deceased sons SSN.

    this is the worst company ever- the projects ****, endless application process, never any work, terrible crappy customer support, never pay you for any contract work, i been with appen for several years, and just 2 days ago- april 26thy 2023 they send me a contract termination, with no valid exscuse- this is just the review im feeling- im about to file a ton of complaints. this is all a long story short.
