Used the service to fill for divorce. The service is subpar to others I could have chose. Charged me the full fee and did fill my paperwork. Advertising has a hidden fee they collect. Could have chosen many other companies that would have completed the paperwork for the same cost. No option to dispute with the company.Business response

Per the customer's request, we have refunded the payment in full. We dispute that we have hidden fees, our fee is $137 and is clearly stated on the payment page. We also dispute that we do not have customer service to respond to issues.Customer response

Hi, I sent those documents that I have just received from Divorce Writer as known as Pro Se Planning Inc , to a lawyer an hour ago and I was amazed to find out those documents are not legal documents. I would need to pay a lawyer in order to get divorced- Even though their ads states completely different than reality and your home page says By doing it yourself online and lawyer-free, you save both time and money.Thats absolutely false information.After reading those complaints it is clearly they are scamming people. They mention in every page pf their website 100% money back guarantee, but only on this hidden page at the buttom of their website they mention that the money back guarantee is only before you receive documents WHICH is just after you pay them!I have good it on good authority that this is not an isolated incident, but rather represents the business practice of pro se planning Inc. Im expecting my full refund asap.Business response

on 6/16/2023 I made a purchase for a non-contested divorce. What I thought were legal documents cost ****** and ***** for them to be mailed to me. After reviewing with a council I was told that the documents weren't legal documents. I immediately tried to call Divorce writers to request a refund as I cannot use the documents I paid for. The number says you have to contact by email I then email my dilemma to them. They responded three day later to tell me no full refund on ***** of the ****** I paid. Then they sent me instructions on how to download the documents. I do not want and cannot use those documents. I am a woman with only 1 income and can't afford to throw money away. I'm trying to divorce my husband and just really needed honest help. Not to be taken advantage of. They also informed me I would receive documents in the mail I have yet to receive them. I paid ***** for mailing purposes yet no documents in 4 days.Business response

I tried using their services, but I didn't have the information they wanted to complete the interview they had with me. Because of this, they said they couldn't complete the process. But they still ended up charging me ****** dollars. When I told them I wanted a refund, they told me it would take 3 days to complete. By day 3, I contacted them again and asked them what was going on with my refund. They said it was in the process, but that they never charged me. This is a complete lie. Because they told me at first that my charge card was being charged 149 dollars. This all started on the 1st of this month. 6 days since this happened. If I had read the replies that people wrote about them on your website, I never would have tried to use them. I just want a complete and total refund of my money.Business response

There seems to be a point of confusion here between a charge being voided and a charge being refunded. The charges for DivorceWriter are submitted to the credit card companies for processing in a batch once per day. If a charge can be removed from the batch (voided) before the batch is submitted for processing, it will not be submitted to your credit card company as a charge. That is what happened in your case. We will follow up one more time with our customer service team on Monday (our next business day) to verify this again.Initial Complaint

I was under the impression that the whole purpose of the website was to fill out the forms and then they would send them to your local courthouse for a fee. I would not pay for forms that I can easily print out from my local clerks website. Especially when I still have to file them myself after they are shipped to me. It really makes no sense. I paid $149.95 including a shipping fee. I have reached out to the company via phone and email. I have gotten no response with either. I didn't know what else to do, so here I am. I just want my money back. I need every dime I can to go about actually filing for my divorce. This inconvenience has made this experience worse than it already was. I have gone back on the website and there is no order number to tie this to. All I have is my transactions showing what they pulled off my card as payment. I purchased their service on June 22nd and while the company did follow through and I received the documents, ********* ** Court Clerk informed me that all the papers I received from Divorce Writer were outdated and did not feature the current codes on the bottom so they were unable to be accepted. I was informed that I had to refill out everything provided to me by the court clerk's office and that nothing the divorce writer had sent me was accepted. The company CLAIMS on their website to have an A+ rating with the BBB and after doing research I found that to be very deceiving as well.Business response
