I hired dynasty decking llc back in August 2024 to install a trex railing and stair case system. This was to be installed in front and a section of the back of my house. We showed images and walked to my back patio that we wanted to match the front of the house. We signed a contract for dynasty decking llc to complete the project in one month. We paid half to start the project. Around late October, they installed a cheap metal railing posts, which is not trex, wire cable with on top rail and behind schedule by a month. We contacted ******* and discussed in person that this was not what we wanted and this wasnt what we agreed opinion. Then, he wanted to change the contract to a T&M. Which, I did not like the idea at all. Also, he indicated that he needed the other half to complete the project. I completely disagreed. After a few days, I decided to pay the remainder and we didnt have a T&M contract agreement. Worst mistake I made. I continued contacting ******* (dynasty decking llc owner) about the lack of progress through Nov and Dec 2024. Around 27 Dec, he installed two 4x4 wood posts for 1 hour of work. As of this compliant date 6 Feb 2025, ******* hasnt responded to my messages or inquiries about finishing the project. I have cables that are not connected on the ground, no top trex railing or stair case and two wood posts in front of the house.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 02/24/2025

I have heard from the business in response to my complaint on 16 Feb (1 1/2 months from last communication with the company). However, the matter has not been resolved. My wife and I do not want to see Dynasty Decking LLC personnel come back and work on our property. We feel that this company can't keep lines of communication clear and precise; can't keep within the scope of work for the project; threatening us to pay more on materials to continue the project; unable to acquire the correct materials in scope of work/contract; indicating to come to work site on specific day, no show, and no reason for the no show; unsafe manner of work site after each work day; unable to keep to a manageable timeline to complete the project. My wife and I feel that we can't trust this company and want a refund from Dynasty Decking LLC.

We (my wife and I) have always said to Dynasty Decking LLC (*******) that we wanted white composite material. I sent him images and walked with him to show the trex composite material staircase in my backyard (multiple times). My wife and I insisted that we (my wife and I) wanted the front to match with the backyard. ******* and I have messaged back and forth several times before and during the project on what we wanted for the material. Instead, he installed metal posts for the staircase (as shown in his response photos). ******* never indicated at any point that he was changing the scope of work in the contract to have metal staircase rails. Section 1 subsection A of the contract, specifically states "white composite material". At ****** or **********, ******* could have purchased the composite and other material required for the project that day. On Amazon, tensioners can be shipped and received in one week at most from some of the sellers. Instead ******* indicated that the "special order" took 4-5 weeks. It is clear only after the fact, that these special orders were not the trex composite or other materials that were in the contract and/or what my wife and I wanted for completion of the project.

We signed the contract (attached in this email) on 12 August, he was supposed to complete the project by the end of August. This is indicated in section II subsection A of the contract. I was patient with ******* about completing the project, beyond what any other customer should expect for completion of the project. He started in the backyard on approximately 27 Sept (approximately 1 2/3 months after signing the contract) and completed the 8 feet section on ~4 Oct. The installation of the metal posts and tensioners were installed and removed around mid Oct. The install of the two 4x4 wood posts were installed on 27 Dec. As such, no work on the project was executed by Dynasty Decking LLC from Aug through the end of Sept (approximately 27 Sept), sporadic work days in Oct (approximately 2 or 3 days). During this whole project, Dynasty Decking LLC indicated multiple times that they would come out to work and didn't show up. For example, on 12 Nov, ******* indicated that he was getting the top rail by 27 Nov and would finish the project by early Dec. He also informed me that he would be out on Sat/Sun (30 Nov/1 Dec). He never showed or never informed my wife or I on the reason for his no show. In addition, on 12 Dec, he indicated the tensioners are to arrive on Wednesday and would be out next weekend (14 / 15 Dec). Again, no show. No work was executed in Nov through the 26 Dec. It is unprofessional to tell a customer that they are coming out to work on the project and be a no show. My wife and I changed our schedules multiple times to accommodate Dynasty Decking coming out to work on the project.

******** comment: "*** agreed to satisfy the original contract in which I gave him $500 off because I hadnt put up rails yet which he agreed to and paid. I then said I wouldnt charge him labor for the changes he just needs to pay for the different materials which he also agreed to do."

From my understanding, I was only agreeing to pay for the material that we wanted, that was a part of the payment of $3185. Otherwise, ********* threat of only continuing the project after payment would only delay this project even more. It was already the beginning of Nov and I was concerned about the safety issues of not having a railing system installed, leaving metal cable hanging in the dirt, metal shards and screws exposed on the porch, stairway and in the yard. He sent me a screenshot of purchased composite material and other materials on 1 Nov (****** Order pickup composite file image). That screenshot seemed to indicate he picked up and purchased the materials needed to finish the contract. It seemed to me that they could install everything that week based on that image. Also, this was the exact material my wife and I have been requesting for from the start of the project and in the contract. It is clear now, that he had not executed the order. Instead he waited and as indicated above, delayed and no show multiple times. It was until I contacted ******* on 26 Dec to request a status update and he executed work the next day (27 Dec). Almost 2 months after the $3185 payment for the materials.

A safety issue in the manner of Dynasty Decking LLC cleanliness. In the contract, Dynasty Decking is supposed to clean up at the completion of the project. There had been metal shards and screws left on the porch, stairs, and in the yard since the start of work in the front of the house. They could have cleaned up after each visit, which from my calculations was only three or four days of work (install and removal of the metal posts, tensioners and two 4x4 post install). But I see now that they were going to wait to clean the work site until the end of the project, which according to them is happening in March. After each visit, I had to clean up after them. This area was unsafe for my guests and delivery personnel (****, ****** etc...). My guests or delivery drivers could have stepped on one of the several screws or metal shards. Then, my wife and I would be liable for their injuries.

There were 4 methods of communication. 1. text message to the company's phone number. 2. Angi's phone number. 3. some phone call conversions. 4. in person. Email was never used for communication. As the customer, it is always the contractor that should be responsible for updating the customer on the project status. My wife and I are the customers and should have been updated more fluently. Every communication with *******, I had to initiate the communications every time to get a status update. The last message that I received from ******* was on 26 Dec. "We will be there tomorrow" (27 Dec). After this last communication, there were no response status updates to either my wife or I. If I knew that they wouldn't be back until March to finish the project, I would have said that is unacceptable. A project to this scale should NOT take this long to complete (12 Aug through Mar, approximately 8-9 months). Why did they tell my mother in law about the situation, instead of my wife or I? She wasn't the customer, not involved in the project, and didn't know the details of the project. All communications relating to delays and material issues, should have been discussed with my wife and I. We signed the contract, not my mother in law. ******* only recently messaged me on 16 Feb (approximately 1 1/2 months after 27 Dec) about the material install issues and not coming to finish the project until March.
