So l stopped by a small lot, Mega Auto Sales (over 3 hours away from where I live after getting messed over by a franchise dealer on 9/2(Labor Day). Saw a car I liked, negotiated with ***** and put down a $100 (through cash app) deposit for the car. Two days later, I accidentally cash apped them an extra $1200 by mistake. Immediately called the dealership and let them know of my error, which they acknowledged. The sales manager told me I could stop by and pick it up via check since they "can't" send it back through cash app. I called back and said I wouldn't be able to come the next day because of the work and that l'd be up there on the weekend. Drove up on the weekend and they tell me their accountant is not in on the weekend. Spoke to the sales manager and he said if I called on Monday and spoke with the accountant, she could overnight a check. Called her on Monday and she agreed to send a check, took my info, and said she would have a tracking number to me within an hour. Called back 2 hours later and the associates said she left early to celebrate her birthday. Called them again on the next day and she transferred me back to the sales manager who ultimately said the $1200 was non refundable. That doesn't make sense because they know that was not our agreed upon deposit. The sales manager wants me to email them my complaint, which I already did but what is that going to do?

    Business Response

Deposits and down payments are non-refundable. The policy is stated within our dealership in big font. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

No, I am requesting a full refund as the money sent is not part of an agreed upon deposit or a down payment. Also, gave me the run around by saying youd write a check.

I purchased a car from this dealership the people that helped me was ******* and *****. My brother picked the up at 11pm at night 3 days later. We notified both men that the front head light, door panel, tires and brakes and rotors were bad. I returned to the dealership 1 week later and spoke with ***** in person about the issues and put tires on the car. He the told me that he would send the brakes and rotors as well as the headlight closer to my home in ******** to avoid the continuous drive. He never did. I returned on yesterday because I paid for tags that I have yet to receive. The temp tags expire 9/15/2024. ***** told me he's not honoring his word and it's my problem now. The car is a lemon it can not pass an inspection. There's to many problems with the vehicle. He even threatened to call the police on me because he didn't want to discuss my issues anymore. I paid him $2700 dollars and he refused to give any of it back. He stated he didn't make any money off of the car so I'm not getting anything back. I also have text messages from ******* and *****. He declined me speaking with someone over him as well.

I bought 2017 Jaguar F-PACE from Mega Auto Outlet of ******************************************************************************* on 03/12/2024. According to the dealership, especially ******* and *****, the car is in Fantastic condition in their words. Myself and my husband proceeded to test drive the car for about a mile. The car drove okay, we heard some noise from the cars ************************ told us it was due to the diesel engine because that is how all diesel engines sound. We believed him and proceeded to purchase the car. During the signing of purchase contract, I constantly asked if anything is wrong with the car or going on with the car that I need to be aware of, ******* and ***** kept assuring me that the car is in great condition, everything in it works properly. To assured me, ***** made me a promise of one year and half warranty. So I made payment in cashier's check and drove off to ********. Right the next day, 03/13/2024, a warning light titled No Engine Restarts in 249mile. Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Quality Detected came on the dashboard, immediately I contacted the dealership to notify them of the problem. ******* picked up my call and immediately insinuating that I must have bought wrong diesel thats why the message came. I took the car to a mechanic for check up to see whats going on with the car. Several tests were performed, it was first discovered that exhaust fluid sensor might be broken. So I went back to the dealership about the problem, ***** promised to pay for sensor and repair, but never fulfill his promise. By the 4th day of the purchase, other lights came on, I got extremely worried and frustrated, so I took the car to a jaguar dealership in ********, **. They did full inspection on the car and notified me that there are several issues with the car, that I should take the car back to where I bought it from. So I did, I met with ***** again the third time around, I gave him the papers that jaguar dealership gave me, and told him I want to return the car and get my money back. He immediately said i cannot return the car, and told me that he will talk to the owner of the dealership and figure out how to help me. He promised to call me back the next day, 03/28/24. When I didnt hear from him, I called, only to kept giving me a runaround that ***** is on the phone or with customer and put me on hold for hours. He never did kept his promise, I kept calling the dealership from morning till night, no response. By this time, the car has totally stopped working. It wont turn on nor giving any signalI have spent over $1,200 in addition to the purchase of the car. So I decided to tow the car back to the dealership, MEGA AUTO OUTLET. ***, one of the salesmen gladly took the key from me, and the dealership did not say anything since i gave the car back them. They are keeping my money and the car. PLEASE, I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME, I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK

Im just arriving home from a deployment and decided I wanted to buy a car from the dealership Mega Auto Outlet in ********. I placed A deposit of 500$ to hold the car which they respected and took off the website. I then chose to get financed through them so they asked for the down payment for the remaining balance. I paid the down payment to the owner in hopes of receiving this car. They asked for plenty of other information such as bank statements, insurance, and proof of address. However the information I provided at the time could not be used so I decided since I got Approved through navy federal I would just use my own pre approved loan to avoid that fiasco. After numerous attempts to get in contact they gave me a whole loop around about they would not be able to ship the car out so it was never in my possession and theyve had my down payment and shipping costs for over 3 days now totaling 4000, 4500$ including the deposit which I understand the dealership can say they dont refund deposits but a down payment and shipping fee is a service I never received and will not receive.

On March 4th, 2024, I visited a dealership where I was greeted by salesmen ******** and *****, both identifying themselves as managers. ***** assured me of a one-year warranty on all vehicle engines, prompting me to purchase a 2013 Audi A4 with a $500 refundable deposit.Returning on March 16th, I became interested in a 2012 Audi Q5 SUV. ******** confirmed its affordability and suggested a test drive. During the drive, I noticed issues including a missing moonroof cover, sun-damaged grill, and black smoke emitting from the engine.Despite concerns, ***** and ******** assured me they would address all issues before finalizing the purchase, citing the one-year engine warranty. Relying on their promises, I proceeded with the purchase, signing paperwork without receiving a copy as promised. On the journey home, dashboard lights flickered, and shortly after, the check engine light illuminated. ***** advised me to return the vehicle for inspection and repair, which I did on March 23rd. ***** assured all mechanical issues, including the replacement of the head gasket, would be resolved.Upon reclaiming the vehicle on March 30th, issues persisted, including the recurring check engine light and malfunctioning heating and air conditioning systems. Despite repeated visits and communications with *****, issues remained unresolved.A diagnostic inspection by my mechanic confirmed significant mechanical deficiencies, contradicting the dealership's assurances. Further investigations revealed a pattern of deceptive practices and dissatisfied customers at Mega Auto Outlet.I urge a thorough investigation into Mega Auto Outlet's business practices to prevent further exploitation of consumers. The financial strain and inconvenience resulting from this ordeal necessitate prompt recourse and restitution. While acknowledging the inherent risks of purchasing a used vehicle, the deliberate misrepresentation of its condition and warranty terms constitutes a breach of trust and ethical responsibility. Decisive action is necessary to hold Mega Auto Outlet accountable and restore consumer confidence in the automotive industry.

    Customer Answer

I have already responded to this message.  I have not had any resolve with the dealership and ***** informed me yesterday the is will not be repairing anything.

If you look on page 10 of the 35 page contract, you will see where ***** wrote in "cover, grill" and 1 year warranty.  He verbally stated that it covered major repairs on the engine and transmission but did not write it out.  It does clearly say 1 year warranty though on the contract.  Please see the attachment on the original complaint.

    Thank you.
    Shica

    *****,

On the last day my girlfriend spoke to you last week she requested a copy of the invoice showing where you supposedly got the head gasket fixed and you told her"NO".  Therefore, I am again requesting an invoice showing that you indeed got the head gasket fixed.  If you truly did this as you claim, you should have no problem in providing me the proof of this.

Also, when exactly do you plan on honoring the promises you made to me on my contract to replace the MISSING sun roof cover and damaged grill (put in writing by you on page 10 of the 35 page contract)?  You and your "finance manager" keep reminding me that I purchased the vehicle "as is", but I only agreed to purchase that vehicle BECAUSE YOU promised and wrote on my sales contract that you would do those things.  You also assured me since I was concerned about the smoke I saw during the test drive that I "shouldn't worry" because you were giving me a " 1 year warranty" (also written on page 10) on the engine and transmission.

I'm asking you one last time to help resolve this issue amicably and provide me with a drivable car that will pass inspection OR return the $10,500 I paid to purchase this vehicle.  How this car managed to pass state inspection in ******** is truly a mystery to me.

Finally, there was a place you told me you would refer me to in ******** in order to have my cover and ***** replaced.  If you decide to follow through with your promises, please provide me with the name and address of this place.  I also would like to know if they are able to fix the nonworking heating and AC system in the vehicle as well?

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

This dealership is breaching the contract I signed with them by refusing to make "any additional repairs" on my vehicle or provide proof of the actual repairs they claimed they did.  They also agreed to replace the grill and sunroof cover on my contract and they are no longer agreeing to do that either. I'm now stuck with vehicle that WILL NOT PASS MARYLAND inspection and will cost me over $6,000 to repair according to the diagnostics I had ran on the car.  Completely fraudulent dealership!

I purchased this Vehicle Jan. 3,2024... The day of purchase I signed an extended warranty contract that stated bumper to bumper and the contract was for 2 years... I was told the all paperwork was in the folder that was given to me upon leaving. On Jan. 24,2024 I contacted the dealership because my service 4wd was activated so I needed to know where the contract was, being it was not in my paperwork... I was told they probably made the mistake by not putting it in there and apologized and told me the info needed to get the service covered by the warranty company. When the mechanic went to make the claim with the warranty company they was advised the service would not be covered so I contacted the company to find out the details on why they would not cover and I was advised that I did not have bumper to bumper. So I asked the warranty company to email me a copy of the contract they had received which they did so and upon receiving I noticed it was not the contract I signed and that the contract had a false Email address and a False signature...

I have spoken to the General Manager ****** since November when I bought the car. I explain to him that the air bag light is on and its a damaged to me and my family and I do not feel comfortable driving the car. In case of an accident the air bags will not deploy. Also the car will not move at all and its leaking transmission fluid. Not only is the airbag light on now the car will not move. I have been getting nothing but the incorrect answers from the General Manager *****. I also have it in writing that they will repair my air bag and that the car comes with a one year transmission and engine warranty through the dealer, he also mentions this warranty in his email response to the BBB. I also asked the General manager to allow me to trade the vehicle in for something different and he decline. I only had put approx. **** miles on the car due to not being able to drive it. I am asking for a solution to this vehicle so I can have transportation.

This vehicle was an as is purchase and it did pass inspection. He also signed the inspection showing passed. If he was to inspect it in his own state they might be a little stricter, but we are not responsible for outside state inspections. Regarding the title, it was shipped to him on 11/8/23. He is responsible for paying his property tax on that vehicle, as we did not charge him for it. He is more than welcome to contact management at the dealership if needs any further assistance.
