Do not use Myriad!!! When asked by my doctor if I wanted to do genetic testing, I was told it is usually around $200 so i agreed to the teating. I received a quote for their services of around $200, so everything was aligned.I received a bill for >$600 today. That is absolutely absurd and insurance fraud. Upon reading these reviews, it looks like the company is notorious for doing this to people. I pay a high deductible every month for my insurance, and now this company is trying to rip us off. It is unfair treatment.

Garbage! This does not work. They scam you out of money and results are not real.

Overall terrible experience, long waits with customer service who are utterly unhelpful. The billing system is ridiculous. They misspelled my name and will not help me until I figure out what imaginary spelling they are using, although they are the ones who made the mistake. They did not accept SSN or date of birth. An infuriating experience overall.

I have breast cancer and receive a large number of bills so I'm am keeping very close track of my portion of the billing. I am very thankful to have insurance and my responsibility is 10% of the agreed on charge through my insurance company, until my deductible is reached. The insurance company, of course, keeps track of that out of pocket amount - after that they will cover 100%. So far I have been billed the correct 10% of the charge for every bill.... all except for the one from Myriad. The insurance company states I owe $139.83 (insurance paid $1,258.42 out of the agreed charge of $1,398.26). Myriad sent me a bill for $249.00! If they want the $249-$139.83=$109.17 difference, then they will need to submit a new claim to my insurance company for that amount, and if approved, then my insurance will pay $98.25 and I would only pay the difference of $10.92. Given the reviews posted, I decided to also submit a review. With everything I need to concentrate on I'm aggravated I now need to contact them to sort out their billing issue. I think they need to improve their billing practices as this seems to be a trend.

Billing is absolutely TERRIBLE. Charges for their services are absolutely insane to me and they were not upfront whatsoever. Its another surprising bill in the mail. I would not select this company or their services if i were you.

This company is a joke. Waiting for results for almost a month. No updates finally had my doctors look into just to be advised there was failed results. Instead of letting me know so I can redo my lab Im now having to wait yet again to get more information on why they were unable to complete my lab.

I was tested under my doctors advice to see what antidepressants may work best for me. It was advised to participate in this genetic testing that I was a bit rushed into and had no idea how much it was going to cost me. I was also given a booklet and my doctor told me to call while in his office and get pricing. I called Myriad and they told me they couldnt give me pricing before the test. I have great insurance so I figured it couldnt be much and the promise was Myriad would call me if over $330. Well guess what? My insurance covered $5000 + and left me with EXCACTLY $330 out of pocket. How convenient? Myriad got the amount adjusted JUST right so that the amount I owed didnt warrant a courtesy call to me to give me the option to decline the test and then sent me a nice bill for $330. I feel like I am being taken advantage of and as I am reading through the complaints, I can see I am not alone. I never complain and I am usually pretty understanding about most things, but when something feels this wrong, I have to speak up so others are more careful.

I underwent prenatal genetic testing with Myriad and am deeply dissatisfied. Despite multiple attempts (CALLED 3 TIMES) to get an estimate, I never received a cost estimate as promised. Now, facing an unexpected $800 bill, I regret choosing them. My attempts to get answers from the company have been terrible, and I plan to inform my healthcare providers about my experience, urging them to reconsider their association with Myriad if the issue isn't resolved promptly. If you have the option to use any other company for testing use anyone else!

It appears that this company has zero ethics. Due to having been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, the Anova Cancer treatment center recommended I have a MyFirst DNA testing. I was told that it would be pre-authorized and if Insurance did not pay then my max ****** was less than $100.00. That seemed reasonable to me. However, I get a letter from Myriad saying I am responsible for $6,040!Myriad then sends me a letter asking that I sign a request for them to appeal the insurance denial because they blamed the insurance company for not processing the claim properly.I see no record on my insurance's portal that a claim was denied. There is no reference of an actual claim by Myriad! They also stated that they made this claim recently and yet the services were over 8 months ago.

I ordered two screening tests through Myriad. I opted to pay out of pocket. So far my experience with their website and billing system is not good. First, the website is buggy. I tried to change my email address and every time I saved, nothing happened. Tried two browsers. I finally got it to work by also changing my password. However, I got no confirmation email stating I changed my email, which is standard for most websites.Second, I paid for one of my two tests out of pocket on their website. The payment went through because there was option to download the receipt (which unfortunately I did not do). However, the billing page does not show either test paid and I received no confirmation email that I paid (yes I checked Spam folder). Now I don't know which of the two tests I still have to pay for.Lastly, their "Live Chat" was "Unavailable" during normal business hours. Again, not a good sign.I am not impressed with the quality of the website and support, which makes me wary that this is the company I am entrusting with my genetic material.
