On November 6, 2024, an employee from Angelman Roofing was sent to my house in order to inspect the roof for a potential buyer. We are currently in the options period for selling our home and have been going back and forth with the potential buyers on replacement vs repair for our roof. Around 11 AM, the roofer we hired ******** Strong Roofing) to also inspect happened to arrive at our home while the roofer from Angelman was still there. He witnessed the Angelman employee actively damaging our roof. When confronted, the Angelman employee claimed he was doing a brittle test. He was using a tool that looks similar to a crowbar. He quickly left our home after the confrontation. Once we were notified, my husband called Angelman and the owner denied all responsibility and threatened my husband. I have multiple pictures, videos, and a written statement from our roofer describing the incident. Angelman claims to be a charitable organization, donating a portion of their profits to various Angelman Syndrome groups. The fact that they do this while vandalizing and essentially scamming customers is repulsive. There are similar events documented online by other roofing companies, therefore this is a well known scam among roofing companies.Business Response

Good afternoon,
The damages we are being accused of creating can be found in the inspection report that was performed on 11-1-24. We were at the property inspecting the roof on 11-6-24. You can visibly see via the inspection report the damages in question. We had never been to the property prior. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. We have already sent out a demand letter to the home owners to remove these reviews. I have provided everything to the home owners as well. I am leaving the description of our experience that our employee (******* ******) left on the profile.
Customer Notes:
11/6/24 - upon inspection before even getting on roof I noticed a significant amount of granular loss on the hip & ridge shingles as well as tears and ripped shingles and on the field shingles I noticed a lot of blistering and delaminating of shingles all over the roof which is often caused because of improper ventilation. I would not recommend any repairs at this time as the shingles are to brittle and can potentially cause more bad than good and we could not offer any warranty on repairs due to the age & existing damage on roof. I Highly recommend on replacing the roof as its past due its time.
Roughly 10 minutes of me being on the roof another roofer then showed up called ******* roofing strong it was the owner ***** ****, his first words where oh they have us at the same time they didnt say anything about that and acted as if he didnt know but ***** had texted the sellers agent informing her I would be earlier than expected and arriving within ******************************** not a problem. Mine is headed out there as well in 15 minutes too So I do believe the roofer ***** **** knew. He then set up his ladder and got on the roof asked me my thoughts on it and I said It definitely needs to be replaced as all the ridge shingles have almost no life in them and if repairs where to be attempted it could potentially cause more harm than good because of the conditions of the roof and how old it is. He than said like repairs with no warranty type of thing, and with all honesty I did say no I would not offer a warranty as I would a roof in better condition, because of the fact it could cause more issues down the road for my buyer if they decide to buy this home. He then continued his inspection walking around the whole roof I was still on the roof walking with him just making casual & respectful conversation as I would any other person I encounter when initially meeting. As he was coming to an end on his roof inspection he then came back to the ridge shingles that were torn in a specific area with lots debris of shingles around it. He Said very casual So why did you rip those shingles So I answered back with That was already like that once I started my inspection and we both know that, what makes you think I did that His words where I was just here yesterday and it wasnt like that so I was just asking
I then asked for him to please show me the pictures because I guarantee you I didnt and I have my proof and I would love for you to show me because we both know it was already damaged so for you to accuse me does aggravate me because thats not the type of work ethic & leadership as person I abide by. He never once showed me the pictures he took or any documentation of what it was like when he inspected it. When I asked him while we on the roof he was on his phone trying to scroll around in the pictures he had but then quickly put his phone back down and said I dont have to show you s*** Im not some adjuster.
As he was getting ready to leave I just asked him So did you get your report He just went off on me saying Im done for and all this because Im making such a big deal over a 12k roof meanwhile Im on the phone with a colleague so he is able to overhear everything as well. I Asked ***** **** once more to to please show me his documentation of inspection that it was not damaged prior. Because before going to this inspection little did he know I saw the report of the roof inspection that was made showing the Damaged torn shingle in the same spot he claimed I tore it and damaged the roof.
So initially, I was respectful person as I would be with anyone else, but once He made the comment and asked why I damaged the shingles. I knew he was lying so everything he said after that moment could not be trusted in my eyes.
I have attached a file of the report to this profile, The specific area ***** **** was trying to say i damage was the ridge shingle thats clearly posted in the inspection report Photo 16-3. You can see it was already damaged prior to my inspection I also took a photo when doing my inspection of the same exact spot and it still had the same debris near by it with the ripped shingles.
11-6-24 ***** spoke with the current home owner Mr. ********* Calls were recorded. They are threatening to file charges of vandalism. Asked for photos that show the damages that their roofer took.
11-7-24 ***** spoke with ****** ****** and apologized that she is dealing with this situation. She understood and had our back 100%. I then was made ware via email that the home owners sounded interested in having us replace the roof. I then agreed but around 1 PM saw that the home owner (wife) left an extremely untrue and long review on our ********* We showed her in the comments the damages in questions and she still is arguing that we damaged the roof. I have filed a fo0rmal complaint against ***** **** with TREC for conflict of interest. ***** has contacted our attorney and we will be sending demand letters **** along with taking legal action.
