    Dear BBB of ******,I wish to file a formal complaint against Richardson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram concerning a 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L Series III Obsidian, purchased on July 29, 2024. The vehicle, costing $123,000 plus additional for extended warranties, was delivered with numerous defects and poor customer service follow-up, including non-functional vehicle shortly after delivery, unprofessional responses from dealership staff, and improperly executed repairs.Given the severity of the issues and the cost involved, I believe this matter warrants your attention. I am seeking your assistance in resolving these ongoing issues with the dealership and ensuring that future consumers do not experience similar treatment.Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

    ******************** vehicle is currently in our service department being repaired. We removed some small dents at his request and diagnosed an electrical issue. Repairs are being performed today. We contacted **************** and informed him the vehicle will be finished this evening and he can pick it up. This should resolve all his concerns.

    I purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2019 and was set to autopay after Y1. I changed addresses in 2022 and when the car was paid off, Chrysler reported me to the business bureau on a $15 balance that I was not aware of and per the last statement I accessed only they noted that they don't have my address. The whole time they did have my bank information that was set to auto draft but they chose to apply $186 of late fees on a $ 15 balance and report me to the credit bureau after 4 years of on time payments and car payoff

    I have purchased a jeep in September 2023. We submitted a claim because they sold us a defective Jeep. We asked for the windows to get replaced and so far we have been waiting almost a year to get our issues resolved. Now we are being told to go to another dealership to get our issues resolved that we need to go look for another dealership to get our issues resolved we didnt purchase a brand new 2024 vehicle for us not to be able to receive the service that was sold to us which is our warranty

    Bought a car from Richardson Chrysler Jeep Dodge and RAM the car back as soon as I had time to when I noticed that the car pre-collision sensor light was coming on I took it to them to get it checked out because that was the car that I bought from that dealership they said dealership did not notify me when my car was transferred to ****** the dealership that the car is from they didn't know if I mean whatsoever so I had a call The dealership ****** told me upon checking they found that the car had internal damage one being the converter and the other one being the front bumper now I had asked the sales person that sold me the car if the car had been in any damage and he told me no and then when I contact the dealership to see if they can reimburse me for the damages on the car that I paid for they told me it's a sold is as car and they have no responsibility for it I also notified the dealership about getting a spare key they told me that they didn't have the key on their person and will call me back if they can find it they did not call me at all so I emailed one of the managers the managers told me that they're not obligated to give me a second key if there was not a second key provided now mind you I have an MPP which is a mechanical protection plan and on their brochure it says if I lose a key I am guaranteed to spare key when I called them and told him the situation they told me to get the dealership to call them now the dealership is refusing to call them

    To whom it may concern,I, ******, am trying to get assistance in a matter that I feel is being ignored by the employees at Richardson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.I took my 2018 Dodge Journey in on April 22nd, 2023 in order for repairs to begin April 24th 2023, as the work began I would get updates provide by ***************************, I was also told by ************ that a New Transmission was being installed but at the day of pick up I was told by ************************************ that is was not new, that is was a rebuilt transmission. My vehicle was returned to me on May 23rd, 2023, but something just was not right. As I drove home it felt a little forced, but did not begin the kicks/jerking again till a few days later. I reached out to dodge June 5th unfortunately I did miss the call back, I reached out again on the 6th of June, and received a call back on the 7th of June Mr. **** (Service Supervisor) and I agreed that I would take the Journey in on Saturday the 10th of June due to my work hours and was also notified that a loaner vehicle would be needed, and I was told it would be arranged if needed (this phone call was recorded). I took the vehicle in as agreed and waited, I was returned my vehicle, and told the tech had forgotten to reset the system. **** told me if the issue continued to reach out. The same night of June 10th around 10pm it began to jerk, due to the day and hours I had to wait till Monday the 12th of June, I call and was told **** was on Vacation, but that a Tech by the name *********************** would reach out, I waited, then called back on the 14th, again was told a tech would call back (both calls were recorded). Now here I am June 16th still no call back and my vehicle has not been fixed! I believe they are killing time since my warranty will be over soon.

    To whom it may concern,

     

    *************** to a letter I received on the 17th of July 2023 in regards a complaint I submitted on the 22nd of June 2023 against Richardson Jeep Dodge Ram.

     

    As of today the 18th of July, the timeline is:

     

    22nd of June I received a call from Mr. **** saying he received a message that my Journey was acting up again and needed to give me a call @ 4:15pm.

    I missed the call due to being in the office at work, I returned the call once I left the office at 5:36, but he had already left for the day but I was able to leave a voicemail on his line. 

    I again returned the call on 23rd of June 2023 @ 1:40pm, but still did not get a call back.

    On the 24th of June 2023 I drove to the location to speak with Mr. ***** but the Mr. ********** originally spoke with was not available but a second Supervisor walked in and ask if I have been helped, which at the time I had been standing there with no acknowledgement for ruffly 5 to 10 minutes. 

    Once I said who I was he mentioned the information I left in the voicemail which left me speechless, because as a company supervisor you received my message and still did not return my call He took my keys and went to the back. when he came back he said it was only reading one code but did not believe it was to do with prior repairs, my response was I know it has to do with the transmission because I personal paid out of pocket at another shop that also told me that it was not his area of repairs due to being internal transmission issue. He said at this time we do not have a loaner for you, but we can reset the system and it should clear it, I stated thats what had been done the time before and the check engine and jerking returned that night at 10pm, well this time it returned at 4:57pm I wanted to call him but could not due to the dealer closing at 5pm. 

    On the 26th of June 2023, I received a text message from *********************** saying that a part was ordered for my Dodge Journey and he would be in contact once received, two weeks went by with no word, I sent him a text message 2 weeks later on the 8th of July 2023, and was told that the part arrived the afternoon of 7th of July 2023, and wanted to know when i could go in to exchange vehicles to complete repairs I responded if Tuesday the 11th would work so that I would have time to notify my employer of the time needed for travel and to give him time to secure a vehicle for use, his response was yes maam. 

    On the 11th of July 2023 I arrived at the Richardson location at 2:04pm, agreed time was 2pm. I went in and was greeted by the 2nd supervisor. I explained why I was there, he said let me go and ask ***** well he went to the back and never came back out! The first ********** met walked up and off top knew who I was, I explained to him why I was there, I was told the same thing let me go check, he walks to the back but he comes back does to clicking and typing on the computer and asks the other employee about another customer and whats was being done, from the conversation I overheard I gather that the vehicle that I should have gotten was given to someone else, he apologized and said ********************* I do not have a vehicle for you at this time, and said one was to be returned that afternoon no later than the next day and he would give me a call to return, keep in mind this day the 11 of July I was now later back to work due to this inconvenience! 

    Today the 18th of July I have not yet heard back from Richardson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram!  

     In these few visit to the location its a deep feeling that the company needs to be retained on how to treat customers and maintain vehicles, due to employees not greeting customers they allow them to stand there in silence as they just walk by and the times Ive been there I was not the only one with complaint of my vehicles not being repair properly! One man was just about in tears from frustration!

    I put down a **** deposit on a vehicle and was told that they accept financing via my current bank. When I arrived to fill out my forms I was informed by *********************** that i would have to finance through there bank because thats how they make money. I was then told that I am forced to pay $7000 for vehicle warranties that i was not told about when putting down my deposit. I asked if I could pay cash for my car and was told no. If i want to pay cash he would add an additional 30k to the total price of the car. ***** stated i could pay cash for a jeep compass but not a dodge challenger and that he would keep my deposit and sell the car to someone else for $100k over MSRP

    We appreciate the feedback and apologize for any inconvenience.  Per the agreement on the non-Refundable deposit.  The offer made when you placed the $5,000 non refundable deposit,  Mr/ ****** shared you must finance with us when the vehicle gets here.  I believe you did visit with *************** a couple of times over the phone and **************** shared that he would allow you to use USAA and would release the vehicle to you once we received 100% full funding.  This vehicle is a little different than a Jeep Renegade due to only 300 of these being produced, and the original Ghost just sold at auction for over $1,000,000 dollars.  The deposit was non refundable ....**************** and **** the salesperson have both texted *************** to try and work it out with him....no response as of today from *****************  As the General Manager I would accept outside financing from USAA for this extremely rare vehicle (again 1 of 300 being built) and release the vehicle once I have received funding.  I would act quickly ...we are already receiving offers from other people that are ready to purchase it.  **************** did say you had until Friday 1-27-2023 to let us know or we would be moving on and selling it to a different customer.  Please reach out and let us know

    I am rejecting this response because:   The dealer has requested that I purchase there extemed warranty in the amount of $5000 and if I do not purchase the extended warranty the vehicle that I ordered would be sold to someone else which is in violation of UDAP. I understand a black ghost was sold at auction for ********* but that was for a **** black ghost. The vehicle im wanting to purchase is a 2023 Black ghost that also sold at auction for 150k. **************** told me that if I wanted to use my own finance company he would then add $20k to that price and or just sell it to someone else for $100k over MSRP. When inplaced my order in October there was nothing in the contract that i signed and have photo copies of say anything about having to finance via there company and or having to pay for there extended warranty. I will not be bullied and or forced to pay for an extended warranty that i did not sign for.

    I am rejecting this response because: its too late to offer me what I asked for months ago. Ive since secured a vehicle for the price i agreed upon and the only reason you're offering that price now is because of the violations and laws that were broken and I threatened litigation which I will proceed with. A week ago when *********************** called my phone on a recorded line yelling and stating he will sell my car to someone else if I didnt pay for the extended warranty or pay an additional $20k if I didn't want to pay for the extended warranty because "he needs to make money" is what i will present during litigation. You cannot break the law and when someone educated enough brings it to the light you change you're tone. I will show proof that your company violated TILA and UDAAP regulations. Again this couldve been avoided if you didnt try and force me to pay additional money and after I threaten to go to litigation you change your mind.

    Dealership is advertising a used vehicle as NEW, including web site photo showing an odometer reading of 304, however the vehicle has nearly ***** miles on it, and is being driven by the dealerships attorney (an employee?). The price advertised is not discounted to reflect the use, nor was the advertising disclosing the vehicles mileage nor that it was used.After the dealership ran a credit check and send an offer, did they disclose that the vehicle is not on the lot, being used by their attorney and the thousands of miles on it.Im asking BBB to have the dealership post their vehicles odometer readings (accounting for test drive mileage) so as to be transparent and clear to potential buyers of vehicle usage, wear and tear, damage, maintenance schedules.Im also seeking BBBs assistance to have the impact of the dealership running my credit, to be reversed. ************************************************************************************************************* VIN: ***************** Thanks

    Thank you for bringing it to our attention.  I apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. The vehicle is in fact NEW (and will be new until it is sold and titled to the first customer) no matter the mileage.  The mileage is on ************** but only at ***** miles.  You are correct, the photo of the odometer reading 204 miles should not be in the advertisement and it will be removed.  I have included a letter that you can mail or upload to the credit bureaus stating your case to have the inquiry removed.

    I have reviewed *** business response and accept this resolution, however just because *** dealership did not change title to *** person that was loaned *** vehicle (like a rental), a lay person would consider this vehicle to be used. We also dont know how this vehicle was used - shuttling ***ir kids to school and soccer practice, daily commute vehicle, took it on vacation to *** west coast. Also vehicle would be about due for an oil change.

    again, I checked with friends and family and ***y also consider this vehicle as used, regardless of *** who does or does not have title.

     

    per car and driver magazine (and o***r references) a new car should have less than ~200miles on it. Ref: Feb. 2023

    Traded a brand new Rivian truck to the dealership for a new Jeep Gladiator on 12/21/22. The Rivian was partially financed by USAA. I left the dealership with promise of equity check in three weeks for the trade difference of $25k. It is now 3/19/23 and I have still not received equity check. - Dealer took three weeks to pay off USAA loan (doing so only after the Rivian was sold), this cost me $175 in interest - ****** sent title work incorrectly, causing delay, but the time of the second sending by ****** my loan was paid off and the truck had been sold to 3rd party - Sum total of dealership effort has been to call USAA to confirm information I already knew - Dealer told me to go to DMV to get title, I said this would not result in title as the vehicle already had change of owner to the dealership's buyer (General Manager involved at this point- rude and unprofessional)- I confirmed with DMV that I could not pick up title - Dealer repeatedly cites "policy" of not issuing equity check without title- I have never seen this policy and I cannot get title as I never owned the vehicle outright - Dealer can always get a new title- they are funded on the sell side but unwilling to honor obligation on the buy side and I cannot do anything to impeded or further their interests with respect to title, it is out of my hands and they know it - I've bought 20 new Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler vehicles since 2018 and three used, several from this dealership, it is amazing to me that this new General Manager who has been extraordinarily unprofessional would lose a customer to the brand over something so trivial - General Manager would not answer my direct question: At what point does the dealership just get a new title?

    Purchased used vehicle that was advertised but had just arrived at the premises of the company. I was rushed into signing for the vehicle with promises of being able to return it, had it fm 12 pm one day until the morning when I attempted to call company and return vehicle and was charged a 10% restocking fee for the vehicle. As a single mother that is going through so much after being in a wreck and a totalled vehicle I don't have cash on hand to be able to keep putting down on vehicles. This company lied multiple times, and is only refunding $409 of the $2000 I used to put down on this vehicle. The vehicle had a burning smell to it. Had a scratch on front drivers side head light, issues with the sealant on drivers side window.this was a shell of a vehicle. **** was the manager I dealt with.

    Customer wanted to return the vehicle ....we incurred the cost of purchasing her funded contract at *********** back (unwound the deal and all involved forfeited their commissions) and paid our salespeople for the time they spent working this deal.  The 10% re-sticking fee is used to cover those items, not to try and make profit.

    I purchased a vehicle from Richardson Chrysler back on October, I still have yet to receive my plates for the vehicle, I have gotten pulled over twice, this last time I almost lost the vehicle because the police officer thought I had stolen the vehicle because they haven't taken it out of the previous owners last name! I've called 6 times now to get different plates, and I have to argue with them each time to get them to mail them to me, because I live over an hour and a half away. They must not have looked over the vehicle very well, I've had to replace two belts, the check engine light has came on and off multiple times, went to put the car in reverse and it just died on me. Had to wait about 10 minutes for the car to even start back up. They act like they do not want to work with me, and get to a solution, I'm not happy, or pleased with anything to do with this dealership, if they could get me into a reliable vehicle and have ALOT better customer service, we may be able to come to a resolution. I just want decent customer service and a ******************** vehicle!
