      Me an my wife can in to purchase here a gun i was help her with the purchase which we made on line got to the 2 white manger ask could they help us wife told them she was there to pick up her gun this was my wife first time purchasing a gun an just because told the gun name she order they denied the purchase of the gun they said they felt she was not purchasing the gun for her self just because i was helping her the 2 guys was acting very rude when we first got there we black an they acted like they didnt want to help u from the start i let them know that the gun was for her i was just help her since it was her first time both out records r clean yet they still denied the sale racial profiling at its best i will never shop at that store again ever

      They pushed me to apply for a credit card and said it was a soft inquiry I asked about 10 times and they lied to my face and try to call them, nobody ever answer so now my credit is affected and I don't know what to do

      SCAM ALERT!!! WOULD RATHER EAT GLASS THAN GIVE ACADEMY SPORTS MY MONEY I recently purchased three hoodies online at clearance pricing and received an email a week later advising my order was canceled due to insufficient inventory. From an inventory management standpoint companies should never accept orders for items it does not have in stock. One of the items in my order is still available on their website at a price that is three times the amount I originally paid. I reached out via online chat and asked why I couldnt receive that one item out of my order and I was told that that item is not actually available even though its displayed on the website as being available.What!? This company is a disgrace and operates under shady and fraudulent business practices. They should all be ashamed of the scam theyre running and learn how to run a business in an ethical way that does not deceive consumers.

      Academy sports *****************************, shopping today at Academy wnet to purchase an item but it scanned for 6 times the price marked on the shelf. This is the third time this type of incident has happened at the register. The on duty manger offered me a 5 % discount, not even close the the shelf price or even a sale price , BEWARE

      Terrible Inventory and **************** Lost a Customer for Good I placed two separate orders with Academy one for home delivery and one for curbside pickup. Both orders showed items in stock and were marked as preparing for shipment/pickup. Shortly after, both were canceled because the items were supposedly out of ******** make things worse, I had to deal with terrible customer service. No real help, no clear answers just frustration. Now I'm stuck waiting for two separate payment holds to be processed so I can get my money back, all because of their mistake and poor inventory system.This entire experience was an inconvenience from start to finish. Academy has lost me as a customer, and Ill be telling my family to avoid shopping here as well. If you value your time, money, and patience, shop somewhere else.

      They advertise products online but they are not at the store or do they offer have items shipped to stores. In my area Illinois BB guns or toilet paper can’t be shipped. You might see many stores have it in stock. Then when you select that store. Oh no it is not in stock there also. I’ve ordered my last from this **** show.

      I made a oline purchase and got to store to pick it up and they would not give it to me. Per the online customer pickup all I needed was my receipt of purchase, card used ,and drivers license. We'll I gave them all of that and ended up with a trespassing charge because I asked questions about why I couldn't receive my purchase per the Academy policy. Never again will I patronize this business. I got the cops called on me because I followed the policy??? **** shame

      I tried to a Marlin 1894 lever action rifle in the McDonough, GA store that was in the rack. They said because I was from Maryland I wasn't allowed to make the purchase. This is not a Georgia law. This is Academy Sports denying the rights of an American citizen. I will never set foot in Academy again and all my friends and relatives will here about this liberal shameless display.

      Ive placed two separate orders for a compound bow, the first order was canceled... they wouldnt honor the same price i paid for black friday.... the 2nd time I tried to order, I called the customer service like to verify item was in stock. I was told it was that it would ship, I placed another order, and it canceled yet again this morning. The best they can do is offer a 15% coupon for inconvenience, which is a complete joke. I've got two different payments hung up in a system that will take at a minimum 10 to 21 days to process. I have to wait 21 days with no product, and hope I get a refund. This is a nightmare. Will absolutely never do business with again.

      Hubby trying to purchase a firearm. We ran into issue the initial visit. It was the day after his birthday, he forgot to renew his license. The second time I didn't have my academy credit card & since I was not the one purchasing the firearm in my name my husband needed to be an authorized user. He actually is authorized but for some reason when they entered his info it did not show up. We were told to call/check he is so we could proceed. I called/confirmed he is, it's also on the online account but I also reordered another card. Hubby renewed his license. Received a paper temp. We confirmed that all we needed was his valid license and that he was authorized then we can make the purchase w/o the card (cause leave it to my hubby that he didn't want to wait for the physical card to come in the mail). Tonight, Black Friday. Long lines. We wait patiently. He gets approved on the firearms application. We proceed. The nice guy that helped us then directed us to his manager for his approval/check us out. At the time the manager was nice. He answered all my hubby's inquiries on bullets/lock boxes, etc. Checkout time. We tell him we don't have the card. No worries he will look it up via the license. Can't find the account showing proof he is authorized. Confused/frustrated I questioned what we can do to figure this out. He suddenly changed tune. Mind you, as store cams can show, we did not change our tune even through our frustration. I guess because he didn't make money off of us we suddenly didn't matter to him. His tone and facial expression became annoyed. He lost his patience and brushed off my questioning. Told me, "Yea come back when you figure it out" then literally moved on to another customer as I was talking. Like we no longer existed. I've never experienced this before. I felt stupid. I felt embarrassed. Even the customer after us didn't know how to proceed. To think this is a manager. I don't care if he felt we wasted his time we should have been given respect.
