BAIT AND SWITCH you sign up at one rate, then they change the rate on you (after YEARS of paying on time) with no notice. My electric bill nearly doubled. seemed too good to be true...and now it was.Ambit Energy

1 starWorst company that I have ever dealt with. Every time I call the calls are being routed overseas. I have spoken with multiple supervisors, none who have been able or willing to assist me. There was a change in my plan and my bills went from $80-$100/month to almost $500/month. This is absurd. No statements were sent to me for THREE MONTHS!! By the time I received a statement, my bill was $1500. Every time I have tried to receive any assistance the overseas managers keep saying "the plan that you were in you are responsible for the *************** they have been trained not to assist with bills in any way. I don't understand how a company can not send you an invoice for 3 months, over charge you and get away with it. I will fight this!! Why can't I speak to someone in the US?!?! I am from another state and I am not familiar with a method of choosing how many kilowatts I think I will use! I had a plan that I was comfortable with and don't recall choosing a new plan. The worst experience I have ever had. How are they allowed to continue to do business!!Review fromJoe K

1 starI tried to cancel my service due to sky high rates then ******* put me on hold then hang up the phone. I tried to call back but the phone number won't get thru anymore. This company is ridiculous and ******* doesn't understand English. I paid $600 gas for an empty house with just heat turned on to 58 degrees. The only thing ******* say is "You used more gas than usual", I wonder if someone here has to pay $1000 for gas and I am not surprised. DO NOT USE AMBIT AT ALL.Review fromJessica A

I moved into a new residence. This company placed a switch hold on the residence. Blocked multiple attempts to get the switch hold lifted! It is not OK to punish a new tenant for a past tenant's transgressions. This company is a joke! If there were negative stars I would rate them -million! They will not let you speak to a supervisor. They do false promises of callbacks. It's like I am fearful my electricity will be cut off and I will go without because some human has the power to click deny on a switch hold for no reason whatsoever! I really hope what they do to others comes back tenfold! Maybe then they will have a better understanding of what their choices have on others! Like seriously, why s**** over someone because of someone else's issues? I HATE AMBIT energy!Ambit Energy

If I could give this company ZERO stars I would I've been with this company for two years and through out these last two year I've contacted them about my bills being as high as $160 for a 1 bedroom room and I'm never home... they told me during the summer to just turn on my ceiling fans in 103 degree weather to keep my bill down and that didn't work not to mention their employees are really rude and have an attitude working there and when I canceled my contract with them they want to charge me $200 early termination fee that by it's self is outrageous not to mention they charged me I believe $100-107 for dates December 27th to January 5th they are very high and expensive they will blow your phone up for canceling and all in your business about who did you switch to I have never heard of a 2 year contract for lights and it still be expensive it's a scam at this point this whole company is.Ambit Energy

1 starI moved into a new home just before Christmas with my 4 children. I called Ambit to get electric service. I was told that the light would switch on December 28, 2022. I paid $95.00 deposit . On January 2, 2023 my power was cut off due to the switch not being made. It was cold and my children and i had to stay in a hotel for 2 days till i could get ** service. I called Ambit they could not give me any answer to why the service was not on. They did said the system was down then they said the couldn't help me to call back. I aske to speak for a manager for 2 days. I was told that one would call me back. I called TXU and was able to get service the next day. I then called Ambit to request a refund. I was told that they would process the refund, still no reason or called back to why i never got service. Now on January 30, 2023 I still have not received my refund. They told be my account has to be canceled and a last meter reading and then i would receive my refund, which is crazy because again they never connected service. I asked to speak with a manager and could not speak to one and once again they told me the system had just went down and i could call back in 2hrs. I will now just hire an attorney. This is awful. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!Review fromMalik M

My bill has never been as expensive in my entire life. I have never paid an electricity bill $100 or more in a month. My bill with ambit has been over $200 a month, and I stay alone and barely home. The employees are rude and disrespectful. They do not try to help you, but tell you that you are in the wrong. They give you false information when signing up with them. I wish I could give 0 star rating but it will not allow me.Ambit Energy
