(Aug. 2024) vehicle was taken to AAMCO transmission diagnostic and potential repair. I made this decision based on transmission codes I received from a certified mechanic (mobile) from AutoNation (Aug 31, 2024). After having waited a few weeks for information regarding the diagnostics, I was informed by AAMCO that the vehicle was in need of an engine replacement (Sep 24, 2024). The representative stated that he couldn't properly determine if the transmission was bad without swapping out the engine. He also stated that there was a chance that nothing significant was wrong with the transmission. After reluctantly agreeing to the engine swap, I was informed later on (Oct 31) that the engine was successfully swapped out and that the car was "running", however, the transmission was in need of repair. I declined the transmission repair, and paid for the vehicle to be towed back to my residence. This was due to me having another vehicle. Once I got home, I realized that the vehicle wouldn't start, which resulted in me calling AAMCO. The representative stated the vehicle was running before it left, and that he would send someone out to check it out. This never happened. Called back a few days later, and was informed that I would have to send it to another AAMCO located in the *********** area. (Dec. 2024)The representative at the *********** location could not figure out why the engine wouldn't start and stated that it should be returned to the original AAMCO. After having had the vehicle towed back to the original AAMCO (late Dec.) I was informed that the issue was fixed and that the vehicle was running. This was false! (Jan. 2025) After discussing what steps to take next, the representative asked for a few days to get the car running, I agreed. (Late Jan.) vehicle was towed back to my residence without being able to start. (Feb. 2025) Vehicle was taken to another shop, vehicle was fixed. Requested reimbursement from AAMCO, I have yet to receive a response.

On August 15, 2024; I went to the AAMCO SHOP located at ********************. *************************. ***** tel:************** to pick up my 2013 Dodge Charger R/T 5.7 L engine. I took it to aamco because it was driving sluggishly after hitting a huge pothole so I thought it was my transmission. They said it was my subframe. They said that they would have it done by Tuesday August 13 but I didnt get the call to pick It up until the 15th. I paid $2962.44 for what I believed was a new subframe. When I looked under the car at the new subframe it had markings from what looks like an auto wreckers yard. Ive bought enough parts at an auto wreckers to recognize when something has been catalogued for inventory.6.5 hours of labor X $160 1040 Mopar/ dealer part subframe:872.00 Wheel alignment $90 Total:$2002 I paid:2962.44 after taxes Even if I paid full price for the subframe that was obviously used, I dont understand how they came to that ******** I wrong? Am I just being paranoid? Or was I severely overcharged for spare parts from an auto wreckers lot?
