Hello,My name is ****. In December 2019 Hinge, *** banned me for violating their "Hinge Terms of Service" without giving me any explanation as to what I specifically did that was in violation. I've always used dating apps appropriately and pride myself on my respect towards women and people in general. Over the last couple of years I've tried to reach out to Hinge several times to resolve the issue and get some clarity as to why I was banned in the first place but have been unsuccessful in reaching them. Not one person has responded to me in all my attempts.On 12/13/19 I tried contacting Hinge for the first time asking why I was banned and was given no response or explanation. Because I was unsuccessful in reaching Hinge, I gave up assuming my account would not be reinstated. Fast forward a couple years and I download the app again. This time around, when I tried to login, I was denied access saying my account had been removed. I attempted to contact Hinge again on the following dates:* 2/5/22 with no response or explanation * 2/10/22 with no response or explanation * 10/5/22 with no response or explanation * 1/19/23 appeal submission with no response or explanation Anyone using the app can falsely report someone, resulting in a ban. Around the time I was banned I did go on a date with a girl from Hinge. She seemed very infatuated with me, but I did not reciprocate the same feelings for her. I was honest and polite with her about it, explaining I simply didn't have romantic feelings for her. She may have been hostile because I wasn't interested in her and reported me, resulting in the ban. If so, this is maltreatment, misuse, and wrong. I really enjoyed using Hinge and it was successful for me. My last relationship prior to the ban was for almost a year with a girl I met off of Hinge. Good morning, On Sunday dec 4th 2022. I received a in app notification from Hinge that my account has been removed due to violating terms. I reached out to their support team via email several times to see if there was a mistake and to seek an explanation because I was sure that I have not violated any terms and I pay a monthly subscription. I take due regard without how I participate in the app. At the same time I explained that someone may have made a false claim against me since I had at the time a on going defamation of character file going on with another social media platform and that two incidents must be related because I've been a member of hinge for several years and now All of a sudden I violated terms it doesn't add up. I'd like to file a complaint due to hinge not doing its due diligence to investigate manners appropriately to ensure the correct solution is obtained for all members involved. I believe I was unjustly banned from the account, as I was given no explanation to why and what terms I violated, and not given a chance to defend or explain any claims made against me. I think more should be done to ensure it's members are treated fairly the app was a big part of my social life, I work three jobs and the app made it easy for me To connect with others. Being removed has effected my social life in very negative way which in return has effected me ans a whole in a negative way and I'd like my ban to be reversed. I think this happened around November 1st or late October. I was kicked off hinge without any warning of bad behavior. I have no clue what I did, I asked a reason and they won't give one. I can't send proof that I didn't do anything bad because I'm kicked out of all accounts. I would like a resolution to why I was kicked off with zero warnings? I literally was talking to 3 girls and had dates setup. I'm not sure what warrants being kicked off? There was nothing weird if the girls were accepting of dates? Then a day later, account banned, I didn't get to meet anyone. Would I be allowed back on the site? Tinder *****, hinge is the only app with good looking girls. There is no response. Also if back onto the case, if they review my file, they can see they allow me to use other match owned sites. So they don't allow me to be on hinge? But I can use any other website they have? If they feel what I did was so bad and that I deserve a permanent ban. Why am I allowed on other sites? I can't screen shot proof either because I am locked out of my account.
******************** keeps saying we can't give up the persons name or data. I don't need that. I want word for word what I said that's bad. "Sit on my face" is not bad. It's a f****** dating site. Unmatch and move on. Or don't match in the first place. I bet thousands and thousands of people say worse on a daily basis and are not permanently banned.
Hinge is trying to portray me as something I am not lol. Just have proof of what was said. Saying "Hey" a couple times over on a dating app is not weird. They also have a right to unmatch if they feel that way. There is suppose to be communication, and "hey" is starting communication.
Anything else they must be looking up the wrong person in the complaint. There is nothing on my account that deserves a lifetime ban. People can learn from a mistake of saying sexual things on a dating app. That's like 80% of what the app is intended for........Business Response

I had my phone lost and when I got it back, for access to all my accounts again, I saw I was banned from hinge. I've never broken any policies or anything at all. I sent a dispute, where they made me send proof of identity with my passport or license and it was denied after they received my proof I am who I say I am. I'm unsure why they'd ban or and completely ignore my Dispute, but I am being falsely banned on this website that I did nothing wrong with and I know a lot of other people are as well. I have been a respectable Hinge member for years. On 12/27/2022, upon attempting to open the application, I received a notification from Hinge indicating that my account had been removed due to violation of terms and services. (See attachment 1). No reason was provided.To my knowledge, I have done nothing in violation of the Hinge terms. I have always behaved respectfully and never done anything inappropriate. I have never used the app for any illicit purpose. Rather, I have used Hinge with the single-minded intention of finding partnership.Upon receiving this notification from Hinge, I appealed this decision to the Hinge team. Despite multiple follow-up emails to their team, I received no response from them, apart from a standard automated response email. (See attachment 2).I do not know why my account was removed, but I am suspicious of certain possibilities, neither of which should have been cause for a ban:(1)Towards the end of 2022, I broke up with a woman whom I had met on Hinge back in March 2022. We first broke ** in November, and officially in December. In that period, I un-paused my Hinge account. It's possible that this ex (or her friends) may have reported my profile upon seeing it on Hinge. If such vindictive behavior were the cause for my ban, that is very unjust, as I did nothing wrong.(2)During the breakup, I did pause and un-pause my account multiple times, especially when we became unofficial. I did not know if I was ready to be dating again and experienced some hesitation. I'm not sure whether pausing my account multiple times triggered my ban. If so, it is unreasonable for Hinge to ban me on these grounds, since the "pause" function is a built-in app feature and Hinge provides no guidance on how frequently an account can be paused. I would like for the ban to be lifted. I am genuinely seeking partnership and Hinge is such an important tool towards that goal, especially in the modern dating world. I am completely baffled as to what I have done to be banned from Hinge. The fact that Hinge can ban a member without providing any explanation is deeply unsettling. I did not behave inappropriately, nor did I use Hinge for any illicit purpose. I recently went through a breakup and wanted to get back on Hinge to find a suitable partner. This outcome is very disturbing.
Further, the response from Hinge indicates that they had denied my appeal. This is news to me because I never heard back from their team regarding my appeal. I was never notified via email or any other medium.

Hinge unfairly banned me when I only used the app for its intended purpose (what I did) of trying to put themselves out there, meet someone, hopefully find a connection, and a potential life partner is absolutely discriminatory. I have NEVER violated terms of service, never misrepresented myself or information, was disrespectful in any way towards matches or females on hinge, or had multiple profiles etc. The only thing I was trying to do on the app was meet someone I could end ** in a relationship with. Asking someone out for drinks is a way to stand out from other guys and and show initiative. Too many female matches would stop responding to messages and ghost you if you do too much small talk. How is that violating terms? It is hard enough to date without dating apps and taking the ability of dating on Hinge away is cruel and unfair. Hinge banned me without reason or violating any terms of service. I have never been harmful, inappropriate, or disrespectful in any way towards any female on Hinge. I am trying to get back into dating after going through a very tough break up in 2022 and I am looking for a long term relationship and ask matches what their ideal date is. Sometimes I ask if they like to grab drinks or ask them hangout as I would use that conversation as a way to try and meet people in person to determine if there is a connection or if we are compatible. I do not want to waste my time or theirs. I have gotten no responses or ghosted on hinge if I did not ask someone to meet quickly in person and show initiative. Past experience of making too much small talk would make girls disinterested and stop responding to me- but I NEVER reported anyone because of that. It just made me change they way I messaged people and cut out small talk because I did not want to continue to get ghosted. I don't want to waste anyones time or mine and that is how I am comfortable opening up the conversation. I am seeking immediate account restoration for racial and/or gender discrimination of banning my account without just cause as O have NEVER violated terms of service on Hinge or any affiliated dating app and no actual explanation of how I violated terms of service. It is discrimination when I am focused on meeting someone IN PERSON to find a connection when there are so many girls/people on this app who get matches for an ego boost and don't reply or stop responding to matches all together for no reason.

Hello, my name is ***********************, email ******************* phone # ************ and I would like to formally appeal my account ban from Tinder. I do not know why I was removed or what terms of service I violated. I have always been respectful to every woman and match on the app and have never used vulgar or offensive language to anyone. The only thing I can think of was that I was revenge reported by an ex, a match (for an unknown reason), or for asking someone to meet in person. I have been personally ghosted many times if I tried to make too much small talk or the woman got bored of our conversation. I ask people to grab drinks or hangout as a mutually respectful way to not waster either of our time and see if we click in person. I do not know what I was removed for or what terms of service I have violated. I have used Hinge for 4 years while
Not in a relationship, only with the sole intention of finding someone for a relationship.
I recently became aware 50+ passwords on my IPhone were compromised due to a data leak, and wonder if my account was hacked and therefore someone else was pretending to be me and did something that got reported.
I have never done anything in that time to violate terms of service. I feel any action taken against me was not appropriate. I humbly ask that a real person reviews this case as I only get many automated messages from Hinge and allow me to re-use that platform (again, I do not know what I did wrong). I am really struggling after getting out of a relationship in October and know my ex is dating again. My therapist wanted me to put myself out there and without Hinge, I am finding it hard to stay positive and move on.

Hello This complaint is concerning *********** and specifically Hinge which is a company they own.I received a random and very harsh ban while I was using the Hinge dating app. Even after I submitted a very legitimate appeal in which I included screenshots and very detailed information as to why I didn't do anything wrong (this is what they ask in case of an appeal), they are still ignoring my case and forbidding me access to the app. This is extremely frustrating as I had a number of dates planned and even had a date a day after they issued the ban that i did not attend because i had no other way of contacting them.I am a single guy living in a new city and their app is one of my primary ways of meeting new people. How can a business play with people's relationships like that? They claim to be the relationship app but they just potentially destroyed one.I am asking them to give me back access to the app or at least explain if there is a legitimate reason for my ban but there has been no response from them.I've heard of people getting help from you regarding this subject before and Hinge gave them back access to their profile after they've contacted you.Is there any way you can help? To summarize, Gaby was banned from Hinge for violations of the Hinge Terms of Use. As explained in these Terms of Use, Hinge may, at its sole discretion, "terminate your account without a refund if Hinge believes that you have violated these Terms, misused our Services, or behaved in a way that Hinge regards as inappropriate or unlawful, on or off our Services." Furthermore, Hinge may "remove your access to our services without warning" if Hinge determines this action to be appropriate.
We understand that Gaby may want additional details. However, as we previously explained in our denial of this appeal, we are unable to discuss further specifics of this decision in order to protect the privacy of our users and comply with the Hinge Privacy Policy. However, be assured that this decision has been thoroughly reviewed, and this ban is fully intended.
We understand this is not the decision **** would like, but they will remain banned from Hinge. Any new accounts Gaby creates will also be subject to termination.

Hinge is a dating app. Like many dating apps you use them to meet people and go on dates. My account was removed from their platform after someone I broke things off with reported me on their platform. They say they have an appeal process but it doesn't exist - which is really misleading to consumers and creates an unfair power dynamic where other users can have control over your ability to use hinge without recourse.Business Response

Hello,I am filing a complaint against the Hinge dating platform. On 01/25/2023 I was informed that my account was banned for an unspecified reason. I appealed this same day and requested to know the reasoning of my account removal, as I have followed the terms of service and listed only truthful information on my account. Upon appealing, I was informed the same day that my account ban would be upheld and final. The email again did not cite the reasoning of my account being banned, just that I would no longer be able to appeal. As a paid user of this platform, I was also not guaranteed a refund for my subscription.My intention of this complaint is to request this company to reinstate my account, as their reasoning for the ban is lacking and this company is known to ban accounts lacking fair reasons.Business Response
