      My account was removed from the Hinge platform in November of last year for violating a policy prohibiting harassment, bullying, or harm. To my knowledge, none of these occurred. If anything, I was on the receiving end of bullying on the Hinge platform on multiple occasions. Furthermore, Hinge has not been willing to provide evidence of any such wrongdoing.All I ask is for the reinstatement of my account. I have now effectively served a 6 month suspension which seems sufficient for whatever sort of misunderstanding would have taken place. Please assist with the resolution. I am currently unable to actively participate in the online dating scene due to these circumstances.

      Hello, my name is ***** ******, email: ************************* phone:************. I would like to formally appeal my account removal from ********************. I do not know what I was removed for or what community guidelines I am supposed to have violated. I feel that any action taken against my account was done in a way that did not give me any chance to defend myself or learn from my mistakes that were not revealed to me upon asking. I would humbly ask that the reviewers of these appeals re-consider my removal and allow me back on the platform. I immediately appealed the ban in which I received an automated reply. I submitted requests from the entire match group corporation and no one was able to tell me how to mitigate this. I appreciate the time and consideration of this appeal.       On August 18, 2024, my Hinge account was permanently banned without prior notice, warning, or any clear explanation of an alleged violation of Hinges Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. I promptly followed Hinges internal appeal process, and on August 29, 2024, I received a denial of my appeal. No specific justification or evidence was provided for the permanent ban.I respectfully request the immediate reinstatement of my account.       I am writing to appeal the ban placed on my account, which I believe was unjustified. As someone who struggles with anxiety and has a job that consumes a significant portion of my time, meeting people in person is already incredibly difficult for me. Hinge has been the only platform where Ive found success in connecting with others, and Ive always done so respectfully, honoring peoples beliefs, cultures, and orientations.I understand that the use of humor can sometimes be misinterpreted, and I may have used dark humor as a conversation starter or in prompts, which could have been perceived as inappropriate. If this was the cause of the ban, I want to emphasize that it was never my intention to offend anyone. I am aware that humor is subjective, but my primary goal was always to ****** genuine connections, not to hurt or disrespect ********* is also possible that the ban may have been influenced by others reporting me out of personal grievances, such as an ex-partner or her friends, or because of a disagreement with another user. I want to assure you that I have always been committed to respectful interactions on the platform I also feel that the limitation to just one appeal seems unreasonable, especially when dealing with potential misunderstandings. The fact that I am no longer able to access the platform, for which I paid for the service, is particularly disheartening, especially considering that this is the only app where I have had any significant success in forming meaningful relationships. My last long-term relationship was found through Hinge, and while it ultimately didnt work out due to compatibility issues, I still value the opportunities Hinge has provided me in the past.If I did violate any guidelines, it was unintentional, and I sincerely apologize for any offense caused.       I am rejecting this response because:   I submitted this complaint to the Better Business Bureau because I believe Hinges actions are unfair, and the company has failed to provide a reasonable explanation for terminating my account. I understand that Hinge reserves the right to enforce its Terms of Use, but the lack of transparency and refusal to share any meaningful information about the alleged violation is unacceptable.
      Furthermore, the statement that this process is not automated and has been thoroughly reviewed rings hollow when no specific details are provided and all further communication is shut down. Denying someone access to a service without explanation, with no recourse, and with the threat of banning any future accounts, raises serious concerns about fairness and accountability.

      This permanent ban has had a significant impact on me personally, as Hinge is the only dating app Ive found to be genuinely helpful in pursuing meaningful, long-term connections. I have invested considerable time and effort into building authentic relationships through the platform, and I truly want to find love.


      What makes this situation particularly difficult is that I have not been informed of any specific actions or violations that would justify this permanent ban. Being removed without any clear explanation feels unjust, especially given my genuine intentions and reliance on the app.


      I respectfully ask that a senior member of your trust and safety or customer support team review my case with transparency and empathy. I believe in Hinges mission, and I sincerely hope this matter can be revisited with a fair and human-centered approach.

      I paid a monthly subscription on my Hinge account which had never caused me trouble before. The next day I happened to be banned. I contacted them asking for an explanation or help given that I am a paying customer at the end of the day I never heard back and was simply told they wouldnt explain anything. I have only two possible explanations for why it couldve happened: Either because I had a baby picture of myself or because I sent multiple messages one after the other after the subscription and got confused for a bot. Either way these are only misunderstandings. I just moved very far away from home and I only wish to meet new people as it gets very lonely. I hope we can reach an understanding

      This is a completely unacceptable response from a corporation that not only neglects and disregards its paying customers but also has its priorities completely out of order. This app has multiple issues that needs fixing and other users that need to be banned way more than a paying customer who they refuse to give an explanation to. I understand Hinges right to not elaborate on their reason for termination, to me that simply sounds like a way of stealing customers subscription money without having to provide the benefits, especially given that so many people seem to have the same exact issue I did.       This is a completely unacceptable response from a corporation that not only neglects and disregards its paying customers but also has its priorities completely out of order. This app has multiple issues that needs fixing and other users that need to be banned way more than a paying customer who they refuse to give an explanation to. I understand Hinges right to not elaborate on their reason for termination, to me that simply sounds like a way of stealing customers subscription money without having to provide the benefits, especially given that so many people seem to have the same exact issue I did.       Hi, I was banned from hinge on april 27 i tried to access the app but I couldnt as the message said i was banned. I tried to appeal with hinge and i got response, "Our team has reviewed your appeal request and confirmed that you are in violation of our Terms of Service and our Community Guidelines. Therefore your account will remain banned. This decision is informed and final and subsequent appeals will not be considered." I'm uncertain about the specific reasons for my removal and which community guidelines I may have unknowingly violated. It seems that the actions taken against my account did not provide an opportunity for me to defend myself or gain insights into any potential mistakes. I kindly request a reconsideration of my removal, with the hope of being reinstated on the platform.       Dear BBB,I am writing this complaint due to Hinges misuse of their banning software. Hinge emailed me on February 26, 2025 to notify my account was banned out of the blue. I have been a user for about 3-4 years that has always abided by their instructed rules and ******************* I have since tried to email them numerous times and have yet to receive a response. They also claim that I have the option to appeal, however it hasnt given me the chance to do so. The only possible way I could see them banning my account was due to my iPhone being stolen, which I have a police report I can provide to back that up. I have also let Hinge know of this, but they still have yet to respond. I have never violated Hinges policies and would love to be reinstated to their app where I would continue to abide by their rules, and use their app the properly intended way. My iPhone 16 Pro was stolen from my possession and ultimately led to my ban on Hinge. The phone ended up in another country, which in and of itself is enough to trigger Hinges ban. On top of this, Im not sure what else the person who stole it couldve done. I please ask that you take this in to consideration as I already suffered consequences of my phone being stolen from me. 

       

      As previously stated, I have always abided strictly by Hinges guidelines and would greatly appreciate you taking my attached evidence in to consideration.       I would like further information on why my account has been banned. I have gone through numerous attempts and still have not gotten a straight answer. I was already punished enough by a stranger pit pocketing me and stealing my iPhone, which resulted in my account being banned. I have provided the final approved police report and will provide more info/documents if necessary. I dont understand how physical evidence with a police report doesnt deem even the chance of them looking back into my situation.

      I am rejecting this response because: I would like to know what further documentation/proof I need to provide for Hinge to consider my appeal. As previously stated many times my person iPhone was stolen from me and in turn was in a different area with another person pretending to be me. I have provided my police report which details the stolen property from me, the date, and the time. It is completely unfair that Im not even getting a solid response when I have solid proof of my device being stolen. Please tell me what further proof/documentation I need to provide for you to consider me.

      My hinge account was banned and removed in June of last year for reasons unknown to me. The business does not disclose what terms youve violated and upon research I have found out that the company does have automated banning and removal within their business. I attempted to follow their appeal process, and they stayed my ban with no further explanation. I find this practice really discriminatory and unfair. I dont know why my account was banned. The only thing I can think of that could be related may have been that a man who tried to pressure me into having *** with him reported my account in a revenge manner, but ultimately Ill never know. I find this frustrating and unfair to consumers, and Id really like to get my account back, as many people within my community have pointed out that this app is the only way theyve connected to likeminded people. I wish that Hinge was also more transparent in their operating procedures. I believe my account was falsely banned, and it isnt fair on consumers to have this ultimatum power over their connections to real people.
