I signed a 1 paint coat contract with Southern Painting (SP) to paint my house around June 16, 2022 after getting assurance from SP office manager (text message June 16, 2022 about protection of property) and sales rep ******* that they would keep paint off my roof in response to my email). SP subcontracts jobs to local companies. The local company performed substandard work. After they finished the first coat on all but the front dormer, I discovered substantial overspray on the shingles below the rear dormer, the right side of the house, the front of the house and the back of the house. We contacted my roofer, who said replacement shingles would be darker than my shingles. We compared old and new shingles under 3 PM bright sun (not realizing that the difference in shade is more apparent at sunrise and sunset). I agreed to the replacement of a lot of shingles and then I discovered a big color mismatch the next morning. Then I began carefully looking for more sprayed shingles. I discovered paint droplets on shingles on other parts of the roof. The rear dormer roof looks like snow. The majority if not the entire roof is covered with overspray to some degree contributing to color mismatch with new shingles. I have taken Nikon D60 photos of the droplets in different locations. SP says they don't see any droplets besides on the rear dormer roof and above the repaired area in back of the house. SP contractor sprayed the fascia, drip edge, bottom of shingles, and then the spray went over the roof edge.Southern Painting claims the difference isn't that bad. It is bad and I will not get used to it, and if I sell the house the buyer or any potential buyers will not like it. SP says the color difference will diminish with time, but they are unable to provide proof that the difference will ever go away. That's just hope I have offered to settle the bill for the painting almost in full. This complaint is about my now ruined, 2-tone 20 month-old roof.
