Excellent customer service, that resulted in restoring my policy of 40 yrs, due to a paperwork issue. ******* ******** handled my issue and provided excellent customer service. She was knowledgeable, courteous, patient and efficient and worked we me for several weeks. We even developed a client, customer bond.I will forever be grateful to ******* and National Western Life for preventing, what could have been a serious financial matter. ****** *.

I am shocked that you continue to rate National Western as A+ when there are nothing but complaints about them. Almost all complaints center around their avoiding sending money to customers through various ruses and lies. I am yet another victim of their ruses and lies. I have been attempting to withdraw $17,000+ from my annuity for more than a month now - their latest ruse is that one of the forms I submitted was torn. I know this is NOT true because all the forms were in perfect shape before I sent them via US post office as "certified mail." (This was so I could prove they received my forms as "not receiving the material" was one of their excuses.)I know they pay you money to belong but even so, I do not understand why you continue (with your rating) to aid & abet them in their unethical (if not actually criminal) practices. HAVE YOU NO SHAME?? You are making a BBB rating worthless. Please, do the right thing and call this company out for its practices. Please feel free to make National Western aware of my complaint. I have shared with you only a small summary of my most recent interaction with them. I have much more I can share. Thank you fir any assistance you can give me.***************************

I bought an annuity almost 4 years ago. I have not drawn anything on this annuity until I turned 60 years of age (February ****). Their company policy. I was waiting for my direct deposit on February 21st ****. I received a letter from National Western Life Insurance the day before I was to receive my direct deposit stating I had to wait until the anniversary of my purchase of this annuity. (May ****). When planning and getting confirmation on 2 different occasions from their customer service and then finding out the day before I was to get my direct deposit and not getting it is the ultimate frustration of this company. Their customer service agents do not seem like they are properly trained and aware of the products that they sell! Their customer service is absolutely atrocious! The company seems like they purposefully like to make their clients angry!I blame my financial advisor for not properly vetting this company before I did business with them! I see a lot of negative reviews for this company. Stay as far away from National Western Life Insurance Company as possible!

The worst **. They **st me over $3000.00 in interest in**me. They take over 45 working days to transfer an annuity . I did a **** transfer so non taxable. It had expired several years ago, so i was earning 1.5%. the new ** offered 5.1%..it took them over three months. so my new company dropped the interest rate because it took so long..dont ever do business with them you will be very sorry. one star is too much

My mother took out an annuity and passed away shortly thereafter. I am the executor of the estate and have been waiting years to cash in this policy. Wanted to do it earlier but with all the fees associated with the policy I waited to get it up to the original amount invested. Sent in the paperwork in late August and the company received it on September 5th. Since that date Ive called numerous times to check on the status of the payout. Each time Ive been told it would take up to 30 business days to mail the check. Today is October 27th and I called their office again to be told I didnt sign a paper correctly. Why didnt they say something in the previous phone calls? I will never recommend this company to others. Feel as though they took advantage of my mother and now me.
