The agreed upon price was written on the corner of the original proposal, and I wrote him a check, then he promised a contract to follow, stating the proposal will serve as one in the meantime. He provided his W-9 at that time as I informed him we will be issuing a 1099 as this is our rental property. ****** also provided a copy of his Certificate Of Liability Insurance at that time. Upon recent review of this document, it is blurred and hard to read. Also, we issued the 1099 and it was returned to us. When I contacted ****** about this he replied "you have an old address", to which I replied "it's the address on the W-9 you provided". He said "well, I don't even claim the 1099's anyway." This gave me pause. Job was to include dig out and regrade base, build forms and pour with 3500 PSI concrete, fiber reinforced, expansion joints, broom finish. ****** ***** promised to provide clean and clear access for our tenants to and from both the downstairs apartment and upstairs flat during the prep process as well as boards to span basement door access and for navigating across a section of the driveway while the concrete was curing.
