10/26/23 I had a consult with ****************. I was referred to him by ****************************** for evaluation, to determine the necessity of a root canal. I had to pay $425 up front due to the fact this doctor was outside my healthcare (Dental network). At that time I scheduled an appointment for November 30th to have the procedure done. I later rescheduled that appointment to January to have it done after the Holidays. During this call I found out my insurance paid them $153. I explained to the person I spoke to those funds shouldve been paid to me. She says she wasnt sure what happened but she would give $153 credit to my next procedure. I didnt agree to that but she didnt know how to resolve it.December 11th 2023 at 8:34 am called the office because I had not received the pre authorization I requested. The pre authorization was requested so I would know exactly what I would pay for this procedure. The voicemail was full, I thought maybe it was because it was Monday morning. I then called Dr ******* office for a similar inquiry and ***** asked if I heard from Dr ******* office, I replied no. ***** told me their office closed indefinitely. The $425 according to *************** was a requirement for his evaluation to determine the need for this procedure. After my exam he confirmed I needed a root canal. After I spoke to my insurance company I found out it was not covered and not required. I believe I have been scammed by *************** and his receptionist *****. I will still have to seek a professional to have this procedure done. My insurance however may not pay because there are limitations to the number of exams, X-rays etc they will pay for. So this may be costing me double the amount to have this procedure done.
