      I hold immense appreciation for the staff at my local Sunshine House; however, I find the corporate management lacking in professionalism. The recent alterations to the payment policies were implemented without providing sufficient advance notice, with a mere three-day notice given to families regarding a significant schedule change in tuition—effectively doubling it within a week. Also, they will not allow our child to attend if we don't comply with the abrupt demand. This approach appears to prioritize financial gain over the welfare of the children in their care, which is concerning. In my experience, I have not encountered a daycare establishment that operates under such conditions.

      Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Our 2025-2026 tuition rates were communicated 30 days prior to the effective date to all current families. We understand that you enrolled just before this change went into effect, and we are disappointed to hear that you did not receive adequate notice. That is certainly not the standard we hold ourselves to, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration it caused your family. We take your feedback seriously and have already shared it with our team to improve our process going forward.

      The ONLY reason it gets two stars is because the teachers are amazing. We absolutely love our teachers and so do the children. The Sunshine House started out okay for what you are paying. However, The Sunshine House on ********* **** ** ********* ** has been shut down more times than I care to count. Part of it was staffing issues, which I can understand. However, most recently it has been shutting down last minute due to renovations occuring and these shut downs have been conveyed to parents sometimes AFTER the business was supposed to open. When talking to the regional director, the only response I got was the shifting of blame onto the renovation company. However, if you are having renovations done then you let the family know. If these renovations are then expected to impact the work week and that wasn't determined until two days prior to the work being conducted, you tell the company to hold off until you can give parents a better notice. Furthermore, if your renovations are supposed to be finished on Monday afternoon and you don't notify your parents until 32 minutes AFTER your business is supposed to be open on Tuesday, you were not doing your job as management and checking in at the business to ensure work was completed on Monday afternoon. Then on Friday you shut down again to finish the toilets and because your license for operating wasn't approved (though you were operating on Wednesday and Thursday). This is absurd and a lack of oversight by daycare management. Oh, by the way, unless you request daycare credit for when they unexpectedly shut down, you do not receive it, and even then I have failed to receive credit for one day where they were not allowed to take more students.

      Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're very sorry to hear your family had a negative experience at our school.
      Our school had to undergo renovations to its bathrooms. To mitigate disruptions to families, our contractor was scheduled to complete all work over the weekend.
      Unfortunately, the contractor ran into unforeseen building complications and couldn't finish before school was scheduled to open on Monday. We weren't notified of these delays and only learned of the status of the building when we arrived Monday morning. We immediately communicated this to families, but yes, it was very short notice and many staff and families were already on their way to school.
      We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this caused. We had previous positive experiences with this contractor and had no reason to believe we wouldn't be contacted should an issue arise. That being said, we should have done better and visited the school over the weekend to gauge progress. Please know we have updated our procedures to ensure these checks are made in the future.
      We are issuing refunds to all families for closures. These refunds are being issued automatically; not just to those who request it.
      We take your concerns very seriously. Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
