Hired this company to replace a sliding glass door in my walk out basement that was damaged over time due to a water leak. Company stated that they replaced rotting wood and installed new flashing to resolve the water leak. The work that they did unfortunately did nothing to resolve the water leak, and it is resulting in damage to the new slider and wood that they installed. Paid company a total of $7,750 in two installments of $3,875, first payment sent to ******************* via Venmo on 5/2/23, second sent to same person via same method on 6/13/23.Starting reaching out to company in January/early February to let them know that we continued to experience a water leak. ******************* responded via email on 2/2/24 indicating that they would come back to address the leak. Response was sent to *** on 2/26/24 with agreement for them to return to fix the leak. Response was then not sent by *** until 3/26/24 asking about available time for them to return "over the next week or so." I responded to that email the same day (3/26/24) with availability. After receiving no reply, I sent a follow up email on 5/22/24, then again on 6/10/24 with still no reply.

Thank you very much for the information regarding the rear sliding door installation.  Our proposal of $7,750.00 was inclusive of the new rear sliding door installation, a new tile floor installation and it also included installing new trim around their existing garage doors.  At the time of the installation of the sliding door, during the demolition phase we noticed the existing header was rotted/damaged due to water over time.  We shared this information with ***** indicating that we had to remove the damaged wood header and associated framing.

***** approved the work and asked our team to proceed with the extra (unforeseen) work.  We did the work and issued a scope change to ***** and ****** which has never been paid.  ****** did reach out indicating that they were having water again coming through the new slider we installed.  ***** and ****** did reach out a few times and it did take us a bit of time to get back.

We did go back since this complaint was submitted to BBB.  We completely removed the siding to expose the sliding door we installed.  We reviewed and it is clear and evident that the door was installed properly including the new header, ice and water shield and new house wrap.  During our investigation we noticed that there was major siding damage above the sliding door which was the cause of the new water.  It was clear an evident the water was coming from above the sliding door and up to the window.

We provided ***** and ****** pricing to remove a large portion of the siding, replace all the damaged plywood and make sure we properly install and weatherproof the upper window.  We have photos of this area if you'd like to see it.

So unfortunately this complaint has come through.  We originally installed the new slider, the tile floor and the garage door trim properly as originally intended.  Unfortunately it seemed as if we didn't install the slider properly however we did.  We showed up and are here to help all of our clients.  I'm truly sorry this happened and wish we discovered the damage above the slider originally.

    Thank you,
    *** (co owner of GoFixxIt)
