  We hired Walt to remodel the basement, dry wall, paint, add recess lighting, install flooring- basic. We had a kitchen remodel by someone else a few years prior and they needed to get to the basement to wire electric work for our island. The electrician places dry wall in place for the time being. When we finished the basement whoever we chose would fix the ceiling - prep, tape, patch and paint. Walt just painted over and said that was his best work. Didn’t even give me the chance to pay more to have him fix is correct like I imagine any good contractor would. Very disappointed as his work for our rental was great. He was recommended by our real estate agent. When she and her team were watching it was great- when I was left on my own his work was trash. He has to come back multiple times to fix his shotty work. He said he was not responsible for fixing the dry wall… just decided to paint over something that needed fixed, totally unprofessional.

  To whom it may concern I was hired by the homeowner above to do a basic finish basement with an economic price in mind. I did not install any ceilings with drywall in this specific basement. Someone else had already installed the drywall and my job was to paint it. Homeowner above reached out to me several times with questions or concerns of work and I went back multiple times to address her issues and concerns. Just a couple weeks back she reached out in reference to a drywall patch that someone else had done and when I had suggested doing more work for her And would charge for the repair. She declined. Her quote was quote (I am not paying a penny more to have anything done. She kept wanting more and more but did not want to change her original budget… I installed a floor she chose and purchased only to have her not like it and I removed it packaged it back up and took it back to the store she purchased it from and picked up a new floor she chose and installed the new floor chosen  there was no compensation for this also added 22 recessed lights having only been compensated for 16 I added extra outlets to her liking and was not compensated i purchased and installed a new microwave for her and was not compensated i painted the ceiling in the upstairs of her home and was not compensated I hung her ceiling fan in her master bedroom and was not compensated I purchased a new screen door for her and was not compensated I hung a mirror for her workout area and was not compensated the list goes on and on because she did not want to pay a penny more but wanted so much more out of me. The job I provided was worth every penny I charged and more I don’t wish to tit for tat with anyone but can assure you the reference matter was not work I did nor was it work I was paid to correct. My job was to paint the drywall in addition there were things that had to dry and needed and required more time to correct which prolonged completion but the job was in fact completed. I stand behind all my work and did the same for this homeowner but have surely learned you cannot please everyone but if you look at the reviews I have and have had over the years I assure you none of them match with the referenced client states I tried to please this woman but could not do so respectfully Walt I tried on many occasions to accommodate this woman but she would always cuss at me and tell me she could pick out 1 million things wrong with the job I provided I have a video of what her expectation was and a video of what my deliver was I would be more than glad to provide for viewing purposes also in the video she states she wants a very economic Basement and no conversation of repair in the referenced matter above thank you

  I am rejecting this response because:
  This type of work, pictures attached is not acceptable. Yes someone else patched that dry wall piece two years ago but when we hired Walt to refinish the basement he should have said this needs repaired. It will cost x amount I said add more I’ll pay go have things done correctly. I said this ceiling will be fixed and repainted and he said he would take care of it. He didn’t, he is lazy and just slapped paint over the existing ceiling . The pictures I previously sent were a mess and awful work. The real estate agents who referred me to Walt and are embarrassed, their exact words were “a basic remodel does not mean poor quality work”. I ended up with poor quality work. Yes, we wanted a basic remodel, which meant no custom work, but his work is just downright deplorable. Who would be satisfied with the ceiling ? We are now at the point where we need to hire another contractor to clean up this ceiling. He should’ve known better than just paint over a patched spot. It’s ironic that his Better Business Bureau reviews are so good and his ******** reviews on social media are deplorable.
