    Just want to put out my 2 cents on Apex on Perkins - Stillwater, OK since I got home from work to my nice and cozy 77 degree apartment.
    I've lived here since August last year and it was a pretty good experience until around June, which unfortunately meant I had already signed a renewal when it started getting really bad.
    Over the past month or two I have called the office at LEAST 20 times, and not ONCE did they pick up. I would almost accept their excuse of it being turn season but we all have seen how much work they actually did.
    My AC has not functioned at full capacity for almost a month now, and every time maintenance comes into my apartment they tell me it's working fine (when it's 75 inside while set to 70) and say they can bring a window unit, which they still haven't done. The last time they came in the maintenance worker told me he was going to Lowe's right then and would bring a window unit and be right back, and surprise surprise he never came back.
    My shower has also been completely torn apart for MONTHS, and I have been BEGGING them for weeks to come and fix it, because now we have 4 people in this apartment who all have to share a single shower. They have given me a concrete date that maintenance would show up at least three separate times and they literally have never shown up. They somehow convinced some outside plumbers to come and work on some apartments (i'm praying they (i'm praying they actually get paid since they're the first actually helpful people to enter my apartment) and they finally fixed the pipes, but there's still a massive hole in the wall that has yet to be fixed.
    I even went in there today and was told I would get an email with some sort of plan of what they're gonna be doing, and guess what? My inbox is EMPTY. Every. Single. Time. I walk in

    I want my lease terminated because the dwelling was not open to me at the beginning of my lease. I waited in line for over six hours to enter the leasing office and was turned away at 8:00 PM. My building 8 appeared unsafe with crumbling staircases, poor ventilation, no air conditioning, no guarantee of hot water as the hot water heater was discarded in the walkway of the third floor of my building. A discarded toilet was also left on the premises. Conditions were so bad in the common areas and the units I did enter that I deemed them as an imminent threat to my health and safety, therefore I am ending my lease immediately.
    I would like to request the return of my security deposit as I was denied access to my apartment despite waiting in line over six hours to enter the leasing office, which closed at 8:00 PM on August 9th, 2024, and left many people without a roof over their head.
    As I was waiting in line to claim my apartment, I witnessed the complex receiving repeated visits from the Stillwater police and local news crews.  The living conditions, management, and maintenance of Apex on Perkins has received much public attention. I read articles and watched news stories as I was waiting that depicted Apex on Perkins as having horrible living conditions and as being delinquent for lawn care and maintenance of the whole facility.
    In addition to public documentation of the squalor, I listened to current tenants’ stories of broken air conditioning and a lack of air conditioning all year for the theater room and gym.  Stories were also shared of downed internet service, broken water pipes, bug infestations, plus mucky and murky swimming pools with creatures inhabiting them.
    I entered friends’ apartments that were granted access to Apex on Perkins on August 9th, 2024, and observed doors that would not open without brute force, filthy carpets, dirty, moldy bathrooms and kitchens and mildewed / musty apartments without air conditioning.
