Direction Home of Eastern Ohio works with people, communities and organizations to plan, prepare and care for aging and disability through education, advocacy and implementation of services.


Direction Home of Eastern Ohio, formerly Area Agency on Aging 11, was created as a result of the Older Americans Act (OAA). The OAA was designed to provide services to older persons not adequately served by other public and private systems. OAA dollars fund many senior services that enable older Americans to remain in their own homes and communities, avoiding unnecessary and costly institutionalization.

More recently, Direction Home of Eastern Ohio has broadened our scope to offer long-term services and supports to Medicaid recipients and qualifying individuals of all ages.
