This company operates exactly like ***** ******** **** ********* in *** *********. They sell to the public, take a lot of your money, then make up reasons to deny claims for any reason. Especially once you've met your deductible, they deny claims they've already approved that you've paid for because they'll have to contribute. Genuinely bad people and a company that shouldn't be allowed to operate.Review from Mike L

Horrible company for doctors too. Every year at around November, claims get randomly denied for absolutely BS reasons. Come January and the government gives them that sweet tax money, they suddenly pay SOME but not all of the backlogged claims. Meanwhile, they shell out $1.16 BILLION dollars in dividends to their stockholders and hundreds of millions of dollars to their executives. That's our money. That's OUR tax dollars.Review from Christina G

This is the worst and most dishonest company ever. They show a list of approved providers before you sign up but no one on that list accepts this insurance. Not one single Hematologist within 100 miles of me accepts this worthless insurance. ****** customer service is rude and unhelpful and hangs up on customers. They don't care about your health or well being. All they care about is you paying your monthly premium. What good is having insurance when it is accepted by no one and covers nothing? This company should go out of business. They show you a list of dozens of in network doctors to get you signed up and then show 0 once you are locked into their plan. It's a bait and switch and it should be illegal.Review from David M

They're basically a terrible company! We pay them every month to cover us and when an actual medical need arises they claim they won't cover it. They clearly know that we can't do anything about it because we're locked into their coverage (or non-existant coverage) through the employer we're with. Forget trying to appeal as well, they'll essentially leave you waiting for months and then deny the appeal anyways. Such a joke. What's the point in getting health insurance if they don't pay to cover our health? The only positive is the people I've dealt with on the phone. Very courteous and helpful. I'm sure they deal with fed up people like myself everyday because the company they work for are basically taking everyone's money and not providing the service they're supposed to. A provider in the Anthem network decided they didn't want to honor the contract for my hearing aids. The provider owes me $1,332 which they will never pay. But Anthem owes me $1,214.21 which is what is covered under my plan. This has gone on since April of 2022, so coming up on two years in a few more months. I keep getting buried under bureaucracy and given tasks: "write a letter to the grievance area, send it to this address." I have done what they asked, and am still waiting for the money that is owed me. I got a letter recently stating that they understand my grievance, and that I will not receive any future correspondence from them. The letter does not say that they will do anything about my situation. I have given up hope that I will get anything that is due me from Anthem. In addition, their website is horrible. It is almost impossible to pay claims and manage my HSA funds. I'm stuck with Anthem as my employer uses them but I would change in a heartbeat if I could.Review from Lisa S

Know one accepts this insurance in my area. The listed providers on their website don't exist. I can't even get a covid shot because ********** wont accept them and they wont accept me paying them cash. So I cant get a covid shot. What a mess. They do not pay there claims to providers. Terrible company and they should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people. I'm paying $700 a month for insurance that can't even be uses anywhere.Review from Karen R

They deny every single procedure, medication, test even with all medical comorbidities. Why even bother to have insurance. Worst company I ever had to deal with in my life with all my medical problems and history. This should be illegal what they are doingReview from Robert A

Appears to be a criminal organization who collects dues without providing any services. Blanket denials seems to be a common practice in order to increase profits.Review from Ash K

One of the worst Insurance Provider I came across not because the employees are overburdened but because they have completely user unfriendly systems or I would rather say completely "Against the User System". Whenever I contact them Anthem representative transfers calls to ******* (whether RX or AIM) ; they refuse to be present in the call; then ******* representative says its Anthem work. Neither talk with each other and have access to each others system Customer keeps spending time and energy calling them alternately.Review from Dennis R

The absolute worst insurance I have ever had. They flat out lie to you about what they cover. Referrals take months to get and where you are able to get a referral the doctor is 90 miles from your home. They will tell you several ways to pay your premium every time you call for service but you won't get a straight answer.
