Bought a 2015 Chevy Silverado from meades on 7/17/24 for $20,000. Next day I realized that the engine makes a weird noise when you drive it. And the ac didn’t work. I called **** Meade and he said to bring it in. Well he came and picked it up from my work and then failed to leave a loaner car like he had told me he would. When I told him about the engine making the noise he insisted that it was supposed to sound like that. Then when I had to drop the truck off for the second time to fix the ac 5 days later I told him that I can’t trust driving the truck due to the engine noises. He proceeded to tell me that a mechanic told him it ran and sounded like a brand new truck. But refused to show me any proof that the engine was ever looked at. He told me that the truck I had bought had absolutely no issues and that they back everything they sell. But then don’t want to actually do anything about the issue. I like the truck. But I just want them to make it right. I shouldn’t have to worry if I can make it somewhere with a $20,000 truck without breaking down.

Mr ********* purchased a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 July 10th 2024. The day after he purchased the truck he may us aware that the air conditioning was not working properly. We immediately took action and within the week or so Steinle GMC Cadillac fixed the issue. Mr ********* made us aware of a noise in the engine so we had the truck taken to ***** *******, in Fremont Ohio who was able to look at it without an appointment. His diagnosis was the truck was mechanically sound and no repairs were needed . **** ***** *******(**** ******** Highly respected mechanic !! The most important thing that you should be aware of is his truck has a 36 months or 38,500 miles warranty . If he disagrees with the mechanic he can take the truck to ANY DEALER to have it looked at . I have all texts from him saved so if you would like to see any of them please let me know .  As always , the reputation of my dealership is very important to me and my employees. We try hard to make every customer happy ! Please let me know if you need anything else.  **** Meade (**** ******** Meade Motorcars

I am rejecting this response because:

just because I bought the warranty doesn’t mean that they should be responsible for something that happened before your dealer warranty ended. I made you aware of the issue and you kept brushing it off. And failed to show paperwork for any shop that he claims to have taken it to. You told me yourself that was was not a single thing wrong with the truck. Me thinking you were a respected dealer believed you. So yes I reject it. I want my truck fixed by the dealership I bought it from. Not having to use the warranty I paid for.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *********

On July 15, 2023, I paid $8,980 to “Meade Motorcars” for a 1999 Lexus LX 470. On July 8, 2023, the owner, Mr. **** Meade, emailed me some images of the car's condition report after I asked a buy inspection. This car was delivered to my house on July 26. After inspecting the vehicle, I discovered that the seller, Mr. **** Meade, had purposefully concealed the badly rusted sections. Two other outbursts were that the car arrived with a black taped on the back door, which was not as shown in the photo on the seller's website, and the "buyer's guide" was not mentioned in the July 8 email. This “buyer's guide” contained had numerous flaws on this car. I contacted the seller, Mr. **** Meade, about the black taped rear door and the "buyer's guide”, but received no answer. On August 10, 2023, my local Lexus dealer inspected and concluded that “Recommend against repair at this facility due to extensive corrosion on frame and suspension components.” All Lexus dealer photographs showing parts should be supplied to me by the seller through email on July 8th. The seller knew or should have known that this car could not be repaired.
The seller sent me a forged bill of sale since he has no idea who signed the buyer's name on the form. The bill of sale is void unless I personally sign it. After paying Mr. **** Meade and his "Meade Motorcars" $8,980, I received a defective car with no title.
"Meade Motorcars" and its owner, Mr. **** Meade, misled me on purpose by failing to reveal the substantial rust on frame and suspension components. If I had known about those flaws, I would not have purchased this vehicle.
I contacted Mr. **** Meade many times, but he refused to return this deceptive and damaged vehicle. He is attempting to coerce me into purchasing this unreportedly bad vehicle.
Mr. **** Meade and "**** Meade's Downtown Motor Sales, LLC" should return their car (They still own the automobile because they have the title to it) and refund my $8,980 in full.

    [BBB Transcription via Email]

Good morning , my name is **** Meade with Meade Motorcars and Im responding to a complaint from *** ****. Ive waited to the end to respond to this complaint because its simply upsetting and completely untrue. First Mr *** saw our ad on Autotrader which showed many pictures of the vehicle, next he contacted me to get  more information about it . A copy of the carfax was sent to him, many many additional photos were sent to him including the undercarriage and any imprefections. Mr *** and I had many conversations from the history of the vehicle to stone chips and I made it extremely clear that I dont like selling cars to people out of state without them looking at it and driving . I DID NOT PURPOSELY CONCEAL ANYTHING !!!  I take my business very seriously and have NEVER been accused of that, in fact I offered him a facetime inspection before the truck was to be  picked up and he reponded " no need ". Let me say again , " I offered the facetimie on the Lexus after I was paid and the check cleared. The entire deal was done and I wanted my customer to feel even better about his purchase and he said "no need ". He bought this $14,000- 20,000 ( depending on your demographic) for $7995 plus shipping because he knew it needed suspension work ( which is also in all the pictures and in the ad ). All of the information was made clear to him from the start. Mr *** is clearing having buyers remorse or we have a translation issue. Hes trying to use the internet reviews and the BBB to strong arm me  into paying him money. My opinion is My *** was hoping the suspension repair was going to be less money and because that didnt pan out hes trying to take advantage of my good name and nature. Mr *** could have also had an independent inspection company come at look at it at his expense. We keep records of all service, inspections and repairs on our vehicles which the BBB is always welcome to , as well as all texts , emails etc.  My office manager ******* ****** spoke with Mr *** as well and provided him a bill of sale and all paperwork need for the purchase. She can confirm much of what ive disscussed here.  Im sure ive missed some info you may want so please call me anytime with questions .  (***) *** ****.   **** Meade Meade Motorcars

I am rejecting this response because:

    ******* ***’s responses:

Mr. **** Meade lied to the BBB, as:
    (1) the "facetime inspection" he claimed NEVER occurred to me, and he cited "No need" for the "facetime inspection" was completely fabricated by him. I never said the "No need" . I was expecting a "facetime inspection" call from him. My phone screenshot attached in this response.

    (2) I received some images from Mr. **** Meade, however the highly rusted undercarriage wasn’t sent to me on purpose. Mr. **** Meade never showed me the highly rusted images which initially included to this complaint.

    The uncontested facts are:
    (1) Mr. **** Meade purposefully withheld the "buyer's guide" from me, which is required by Ohio law.
    (2) Mr. **** Meade taped the rear lift gate to conceal up further corrosion or damage. The final image in the exhibition (attached again).
    (3) Mr. **** Meade forged the signature of the Bill of Sale.
    (4) Mr. **** Meade still withheld the car title.

    Sincerely,

    ******* ***
