I was told they were a “magazine publication company” and would have a “one of a kind ad” in said magazine that only a few people would be in. I was charged $409 for said “one-of-a-kind ad,” which was a multitude of copy-and-paste ads in the same industry as me on a two-page newspaper. The “one-of-a-kind ad” I paid for had a printing ink smudge covering most of it. I'm unable to use this newspaper with my “one-of-a-kind ad” not being legible even to read. After informing my credit card company of the situation, they proceeded to file it as a fraudulent charge for them not providing the services they promised. Since then, this “magazine publication company” has continued to call me, leaving hostile voicemails. This “magazine publication company” provides people with false information about their business and will continue to do this to others.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/02/2023

Ms. **** was contacted by Ms* **** on 3-21-23 at 10:40 am and Ms. **** requested we run the ad for her in the Lubbock Area "Talk of the Town" publication which is done in print and on line.  She requested the 2 column size ad  at the price of $399.50.  She was never told it was a "magazine" nor that it was described as one of a kind ad.  We do clarify that the realtor ads are each different in verbage.  The publication is an 8 page publication featuring ongoing events for the area in a calendar format interspersed with customer ads. The publication is in print and on line for the year.   We have been in business for over 25 years and have never been considered a fraudulent business.  Ms. **** asked to have her facebook logo included in the ad as well as her email and website address.  She was told that she could pay the invoice on delivery, which she did.  She signed the invoice 223-12-07 and gave a credit card to our delivery person who called the office to get a verification for her which she was given.  We have looked at other copies of the publication which we have at our location for extra copy requests and there are no ink smudges on any of them.  The publications were printed at ******* ********* ******* who also prints our San Angelo, Midland, Abilene and Amarillo publications and we have had no complaints of smudges in them.  When we received a notice from the credit card company that our transaction was fraudulent, Ms. ****  responded to the credit card company.  I am including all pertinent correspondence to them as well as a reduced size copy of the ad which was in our publication.  Please let us know if you need further communications with us.
