    I saw a very professional ad and I reached out to Ripley Tree Service for the removal of two trees. While the price was reasonable, the company wanted me to provide the Company a Liability Release from "any liability included but not limited to" a long list of items. Basically, they were asking me, the homeowner, to indemnify them for anything that went wrong as there were no exclusions in written form. They claimed that they had business insurance, but never provided me an insurance certificate after my requests and their multiple commitments to provide me one. Proceed cautiously given the Liability Release language in their proposals. I declined to engage them because they did not assume responsibility for any of their work. At the end of the day, I could not be confident that they would perform their work with adequate care or that they would stand behind any mistakes they would make during the tree removal process.
    I wasted a lot of time trying to get them to balance their Liability Release language with the customer's interests in mind, but at the end of the day, they would not budge off this far-stretching customer indemnification.

    Ripley Tree Service came out to our property and quoted a very delicate job. They had to position their crane between our home and our septic field and bring down an 80-foot decaying tree. The quote was very reasonable, and we contracted them for August. They were prompt in arriving when they said they would and removed the tree with surgical precision. They were finished within a few hours and when they left, you couldn't even tell they were there! HIGHLY RECOMMEDED!
